There are all types of addictions, many people are addicted to drugs, Alcohol, sexual addictions, shopping addictions and food addictions, there are more types of addictions than you can imagine and hundreds of books to tell you how to overcome them. Things that the Scriptures call sin and lust of the flesh are now called diseases. (AA) says we don’t have an addiction, we have a disease. “you can’t get any farther from the truth then that’’ and one cannot help doing and must be counseled and mentored to overcome these terrible diseases, let’s  face it! We live in an addicted society “Diseased or Addicted” Why, because that’s how God meant for us to be. “1 Cor 16:15-16” I BESEECH YOU, BRETHEN,( YE KNOW THE HOUSE OF STEPHANAS ,THAT IT IS THE FIRST FRUITS OF ACHAIA, AND THAT THEY HAVE ADDICTED THEMSELVES TO THE MINISTRY OF THE SAINTS.

The ordinance of first fruits dates back to Cain & Abel.  Cain gave an offering from the fruit of the ground. Abel gave of the firstlings of his flock.  God respected Abel’s offering and not Cain’s. It was because Abel gave of his first fruits and Cain simply gave a tithe.

(The first fruits) was always given to the high priest and he would bless the first fruits and that meant that the rest of the flock, garden, tithe and/or whatever that came behind it later was already bless (Romans 8:29) Jesus was predestinate to be conformed to the image of his Son, that he might be the firstborn among many brethren. Because of Jesus being the first fruits we in return, are all bless.

The need to be addicted is how god made us. 1 Cor 16:15-16. AND THAT THEY HAVE ADDICTED THEMSELVES TO THE MINISTRY OF THE SAINTS.) We need to be addicted to God for salvation.                              “What is Salvation?” (Jonah 2:9, 10). Jonah, a man running away from God, survived three days in a fish's belly! Finally in desperation he cried out, "Salvation is of the Lord. And the Lord spoke unto the fish, and it vomited out Jonah upon the dry land" I don't know if that word "SALVATION" impresses you, but it certainly conveys a lot to me. The word simply means, "Deliverance, Safety and/or Preservation."

It carries the thought of being rescued from a coming catastrophe and brought into a secure and blessed position, and notice, the Lord is the only One who can accomplish this for you through Christ Jesus.

We need to be addicted to pray. (Psalm 66:16-20.) PRAY WITHOUT CEASING. The first time someone hears about the concept of praying without ceasing it may conjure up the image of Christians walking around with their hands folded, heads bowed, and eyes closed, bumping into things. While certain postures and specific times set aside for prayer have an important bearing on our communication with God, to "pray at all times" obviously does not mean we are to pray in formal or just to be notice, every waking moment. And it does not mean you're supposed to devote yourself to reciting ritualistic patterns and forms of prayer. To "pray without ceasing" is your addicted prayer life; you’re to be continually in an addicted attitude of prayer. And surrendering your addicted behavior over to God

We need to be addicted to praise (Psa 150:6) LET EVERYTHING THAT HATH BREATH PRAISE THE LORD. Your addiction will have you praising God in every circumstance in which you find yourself in, thou be it good or bad. I believe Paul was addicted when he said “COUNT IT ALL AS JOY!” The true addict shall worship the Father in spirit and in truth; for the Father seeketh those who are addicted to him.

We need to be addicted to Church Attendance (Psa 122:1) I WAS GLAD WHEN THEY SAID UNTO ME, LET US GO INTO THE HOUSE OF THE LORD. It is Gods house that your addiction will bring you to, not the crack house. (Forsake not the assembly.)I saw a young man on his bike 2:30 in the morning riding in three feet of snow headed to the crack house, just to feed his addiction. But on Sunday morning with just two inches Of snow, the church is empty. Well this Sunday morning let us imagine that after the benediction is given today, as you’re on your way out the church doors, there is a Heavenly reporter with cameras flashing and a notebook in hand; ready to take an exit poll. Related to why you showed up at church this morning? With two to three inches of snow on the ground. Why did you get up from the comfort of a warm bed, browse through the clothes in your closets, jump into the shower,

get dressed, get into your cars, and drive to this place? Why did you show up at church this morning? Didn’t you know that with two inches of snow on the ground the pastor almost wasn’t coming himself?  Was it because of religion, no, was it some kind of ritual?  No, so the question this morning is why? Why come to church? Coming to church is a personal journey.  “I was glad, when they said unto me! “That’s personal”. If you must know, the truth is I just had to feed my addiction.

Are you addicted? I’m addicted, if your addicted, you can’t hardly wait until you are alone so you can experience the feeling that comes from taking part in the experience of a Spiritual Addiction. Do you find yourself avoiding people because they interfere with your addiction? Do you find yourself day dreaming about your Addiction? Do you regularly turn to your Addiction when you are troubled? Are you better able to face life after engaging in your addiction? Do you get upset if you cannot partake in your addiction for a long period of time? Do you prefer to be with other people that have the same Addiction?  Always take heed to symptoms of withdrawals from God and the occasional overdose of inviting the Holy Spirits presences into your daily life’s until your body can no longer function without. Amen
