ARE YOU AN  ANOREXIC CHRISTIAN???

We all know that some of the signs or characteristics of someone
suffering from anorexia, an eating disorder, are: extreme weight loss
and frailty due to starvation and depriving them selves of food; they
see them selves as big or fat even though they may be a size -3 and
weigh 90, 85 or 80 lbs. Their rib bones pertrude from their skin
making them look like a living skeleton. They also have a very poor
self image; lack  confidence, and they have low self-esteem and
self-worth issues. This post is not to be critical, judgmental or
insensitive to those who may be dealing with anorexia, but it is to
show the similarities between those who are naturally and spiritually
anorexic. I found spiritual anorexia to be a big issue or problem
among Christians and saints.

Spiritual anorexia is when believers, Christians or saints deprive themselves of the essentials of being a strong, mature and victorious believer. They attend church every now and then or maybe on Easter Sunday as they call it, New Year's eve or some other holiday. They read their bible every now and then or not at all. They read the Daily Bread or
some other type of devotion book to replace taking out time to read
and study the bible. They don't have a prayer life and if they do
they pray they pray on the run or say a quickie prayer when they get
up, while on their way to work, school or church, and before they go
to bed, and when they get in trouble.  And then they may throw the
Lord a quickie prayer while driving their automobile or while walking
or riding on the bus. They are very comfortable with being this way
and they think that they are spiritually fat and spiritually
nourished, and they see themselves as big,

fat or over weight.
But the real deal is, they are spiritually malnourished. They are victims
of and suffer from spiritual anorexia and don't even know it. They
are very frail and weak and can not stand the storms, trials and
tests of time that come their way. They are self-motivated and not
Spirit-motivated, and their sensitivity and perception of the Holy
Spirit is very dull, even though they think they are spiritual and
God speaks to them as well as He speaks to any one else. And as a
matter of fact, they and God have a good relationship going on and
God tolerates their sins, their works of their flesh and lusts, and
their lousy excuses for whatever. If you were to witness to them, try
to share God's word with them, you can tell and perceive they really
don't want to hear it. If you invite them to church, they feel that
they really don't need all that and that they are O K. They are
spiritually anorexic.

Are you spiritually anorexic? Or are you
spiritually nourished, feeding yourself daily with intimacy with God
that includes worship, praise & thanksgiving, and being quiet and
still:  prayer, the word of God, attending church and fellow-shipping
with the saints or believers.

The worst kind of deception is the the deception that the enemy or sa tan brings, but it is self-deception. Self-deception is when we refuse to know the truth and accept the truth about our selves, and live in denial about ourselves. You cannot pretend, ignore or act like you ain't you. Acknowledgment of who we are, what we've done or what we are doing along with repentace, precedes our healing and deliverance, as we come before the Lord with humility, lowliness of mind and butt naked with our hearts and spirit.
