Leviticus 25:1-27:34
Behar-Bechukotai -The Year of Jubilee – All Debts Canceled!
Jeremiah 16:19–17:14
Luke 21–24

This Scripture portion speaks of redemption. Father Yahweh tells Moses to speak to the children of Israel concerning the Sabbatical year and the Laws concerning seeding and harvesting in preparation of the year that they were to do neither. It also deals with redemption of land inheritance and the costs of redemption in cases of brothers becoming poor in reference to servitude. I love the book of Leviticus because it deals with the priests and how they are to govern the living area of the (B'nai) children of Israel. They are given very specific guidelines on how to handle and manage a community; whether there are issues that have to be addressed concerning sin and how to cleanse the camp from impurities or how much a person must pay if they want to be dedicated to a work which would be called a vow.

Yahweh states in Lev 25:3 – 5:

‘Six years you sow your field, and six years you prune your vineyard, and gather in its fruit,
but in the seventh year the land is to have a Sabbath of rest, a Sabbath to יהוה. Do not sow your field and do not prune your vineyard. ‘Do not reap what grows of its own of your harvest, and do not gather the grapes of your unpruned vine, for it is a year of rest for the land.”

Ever wonder why our foods today in this country do not have the nutrients and important minerals needed to keep our bodies healthy. The above Scripture would be the reason why. Americans are by far one of the most unhealthy groups of people in the world. We have statistically more health problems and are more over weight issues then many third world countries. This has occurred since the take over of farming from regular farms to corporate entities that do not have the health and well being of our citizens as their at heart. We must take all kinds of vitamin and mineral supplements to get the regular nutrients that should be obtained from our foods. So from this we see what we could gain from obeying this command. Yahweh has placed everything that we need for life in His Word, it is a shame that most of our society has marked His Word as 'foolish' or 'done away with' therefore leaving our Wisdom, Knowledge and Regulations so that we could live a whole and prosperous life.

As I continued to read this portion of Scripture I found that it perfectly relates to many different
scenarios in Jeremiah and Luke. Father tells us not to sow or reap of the fields during the Sabbatical Year, but then He gives us and amazing gift for being obedient. In Leviticus 25:21 He states ‘Therefore I have commanded My blessing on you in the sixth year, and it shall bring forth the crop for three years.” That is an abundance of sustenance for 3 years! Father Yahweh never leaves us wondering, why, because He alone is our provider. He provides more than enough so that we are sustained even through a time that we may feel we would be without.

I think that this is perfectly remembered in relation to Messiah Yahshuah speaking to the rich man in Luke 18 and speaking of the poor widow in Luke 21 one was asked to give up everything and the other gave up all that she had to live on; as Yahshuah being our Redeemer, the Torah says in Leviticus 25:25 ‘When your brother becomes poor, and has sold some of his possession, and his redeemer, a close relative comes to redeem it, then he shall redeem what his brother sold.” Messiah fulfilled Father's Word completely so, He is the Kinsman Redeemer Who redeems back to us once we have become poor or released what we have. On the Sod or deeper understanding this Scripture could also relate to Messiah Redeeming what was sold in the beginning when Adam and Hav'vah sinned. According to the time line the time that Yahshuah came and was sacrificed would have been 8 jubilees (the number 8 means new beginning), according to the Scriptures a day is as a thousand years and a thousand years is as a day, II Peter 3:8. In the Hebrew understanding no matter how many '0s' fall behind that number it is still recognized as that number, for instance Messiah Yahshuah came in the 4,000th year after creation which also means that He came in the 4th day. Which makes sense for Him to come in that time because in relation to the creation the great lights where placed in the heavens to govern the times and seasons, just as Messiah came in the 4th day or 4,000th year and the government or rule is upon His shoulders as stated in Isaiah 9:6, government or rule of what...time because in the 7th chapter it states that the increase of His rule and peace there is no end. Also, in John 1:9 it states that He was the True Light and In John 8:12 Messiah calls Himself “The Light of the world.” This is an awesome revelation to realize that Messiah is redeeming completely from creation, to the present and finally the future; ushering in the Covenant of Peace.

The hearts of men have become so entrenched in what they own that they no longer acknowledge Yahweh's promises as Him being the Sovereign keeper of His Word. We as people set apart to the One, True and Living Father of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob must know that what ever we have or own; once released when we come into the Truth of the Messiah can and will be redeemed back to us. I say to all today reading this that He can redeem it back as a higher thing of value then what we released.

If we would repent, accept our faults and the faults of our fathers and release those things that are not like Him; He will give us back something of greater worth. Yahweh states in Leviticus 26:40 – 42
“But if they confess their crookedness and the crookedness of their fathers, with their trespass in which they trespassed against Me, and that they also have walked contrary to Me, and that I also have walked contrary to them and have brought them into the land of their enemies – if their uncircumcised heart is then humbled, and they accept the punishment of their crookedness, then I shall remember My covenant with Yaʽaqob, and also My covenant with Yitshaq, and also remember My covenant with Abraham, and remember the land.”

Yahweh is saying that He will remember the land, and what land is He speaking of the Land of Israel, but remember, the land, the Word (Torah) and the people of Yahweh are synonymous, we are just as much a part of the land as the Word of Yahweh is, the reason we have so many problems is because we our outside of the land of promise. It is due to the sins of the fathers that we stand in this place. Jeremiah 16:19 says, “O יהוה, my strength and my stronghold and my refuge, in the day of distress the gentiles shall come to You from the ends of the earth and say, “Our fathers have inherited only falsehood, futility, and there is no value in them.” (Read Psalms 147:19, Isa. 2:3, Isa. 60:2-3, John 4:22, Rom. 2:20, Rom. 3:2, Rom. 9:4). Those things that we think that we have achieved have no value in them, so yes we have inherited lies, but our Wonderful Redeemer Yahshuah had the task of redeeming what was lost to us and He did on Calvary. He in that single act allowed passage back to our place as priests and possession of our 'land'.

Messiah being devoted and dedicated for His purpose is revealed in Leviticus 27:29 “No one
under the ban, under the ban among men, is ransomed, but shall certainly be put to death.” The word Ban in Hebrew is 'cherem' which means to destroy utterly, completely destroy, dedicate for destruction, so in this Scripture we see that if something is set apart for dedication it can not be redeemed! This is why Messiah could not be released when Pilot asked if He or Yahshuah Barabbas should be released and the crowd wanted Barabbas why because Messiah was dedicated for the purpose of our redemption. This is awesome..Messiah prays in the garden that this bitter cup be removed from Him, but then He says something very profound, “not My will, but Your Will be done.”

Finally our redemption is sealed through Yahshuah and He returns all things in Jubilee to His people, The Word which is His Promise and the land which is our inheritance.

What are you willing to give up to be restored to Righteousness?
