Why oh why do, we who call ourselves Christians .Those who have accepted Jesus the Christ as Lord and Saviour.? Desire to twist and turn the word of God, speaking of the bible. Many of us take scrpiture out of context. Many of us went to cematary ooppps I mean seminary. we don't read or apprhened what we read.We don't go to biblestudy or sunday school. Yet, many of us consider ourselves authority on the word. what happened to the time when we let the Holy ghost lead us in your understanding? what happened to SIT DOWN and being taught. What happened to not letting your opinon and feelings dictate scripture? We are helping satan send millions to hell , because we don't know his word {bible]. I encourage all to study God's word. God talks and walkd with us by studing his word. [bible] we must let the Holy Ghost gives us bible interpetation. Study to Show Thyself Approved unto God. The bible is TRUE and without ERR,/ERROR. The bibe was written by devinly inspired men of God {not perfect men]. God used inperfect men to write a Perfect word, to an inperfect people

I believe the Bible to be the inspired and only infallible word of God. Pastor you brought up Bible Study and SS, I believe that when we as sisters and brothers sit down and study together, two or three gather in his Name, HE is in the midst. What one person contributes is obviously going to be a different take from another's simply because our trials are different.

This is why I strongly urge that ones find a church home, we must enteract with others to grow, and prevent ourselves from not becoming opinionated. I know that sometimes ones need to have bible study maybe in smaller groups, because of the babes not being taken to fast in an assembly, but at some point one has got to learn to deal with the Body as a whole.

The bible is TRUE and without ERR, but we in the flesh are not, and will never be. We have to learn to love and love in a way that when your eyes see sin, your heart is able to see a testimony in the making.
Pastor Valentine,

There is a possibility that some people are just lazy. They would rather listen to TV Evangelism and/or try to get an understanding from Sunday morning services and leave it at that. You would be surprised at the number of Christians who do not have an intimate relationship with the Lord.
Chaplain, I actually saw on one post an individual state that we can't have a personal relationship with the Lord???? I had never heard of such
Sis. Fugett, that statement was no doubt posted by a Black Israelite because Hezekiah Ben Israel told Bro. Watson that he is not reborn and will not be reborn until Jesus' Second Coming. Go figure!
Bro Valentine:
I agree with you that the original text of the Bible is infallible, but where is that original text?
Do you realize that for every text of the NT that there are several different variants in the manuscripts which the translator must pick from to create his translation?

Here is an example of what I mean. This was posted to another group, and as you cam see, some of the older English translators, who were not translating for a church or a king, translated the text of Acts 20:7 using the word "Sabbath" rather than the "First day of the week".

The KJV used the latter and therefor contributed to the confusion as to which day of the week the Messianic believers upheld as their primary day of corporate worship. This verse is used by the Sunday-keepers to validate rejection of Sabbath for sunday. But does it say what the Sunday keepers want it to say? In the Greek the word "Sabbath" is in the text:

I submit to you some older Bible translations which have not hidden the fact that the early Believers worshipped on the sabbath. Below you will find the translations of Tyndaly 1525, Coverdale and the Bishop's Bible which use the word "SABBATH" instead of the "first day of the week" in Acts 20:7 -

Tyndale 1525

Acts 20:7-
¶ *On a saboth day* the disciples came together for to break bread, and Paul preached unto them (ready to depart on the morrow) and continued the preaching unto midnight.

Coverdale

Acts 20:7-
*Vpon one of the Sabbathes*, whan the disciples came together to breake bred, Paul preached vnto them, wyllinge to departe on the morow, and contynued the preachinge vnto mydnight.

Bishop's Bible:

Acts 20:7-
And *vpon one of the Sabboth dayes*, when the disciples came together for to breake bread, Paul reasoned with the, redy to depart on the morowe, and continued the worde vnto mydnyght.

In Mark 16:18 the KJV says believers will "take up serpents" prompting the Snake Handling Pentecostals to handle snakes in their services, some get bitten from that practice and die.]

Do you realize that the Tyndale and Geneva bible says men will "KILL or DRIVE AWAY SERPENTS"!

18 and shall kill serpents. And if they drink any deadly thing, it shall not hurt them. They shall lay their hands on the sick, and they shall recover.

18 and shall kyll serpentes. And yf they drinke eny dedly thinge yt shall not hurte the. They shall laye their hondes on ye sicke and they shall recover.

18 Dryue awaye serpetes: And yf they drynke eny deedly thinge, it shal not hurte them: They shal laye their handes vpo the sicke, and they shal recouer.

Which translation is correct Bro Valentine?

So when the texts and/or translators disagree, how do you reconcile or come to the true, original reading of the text?

The take home message is don't rely on one translation, get several of them and learn Hebrew or Greek at least learn to use the concordances and lexicons or have an expert in the Biblical languages to consult with.
The word is infalliable because it is the inspired /breathed word of God. The pronblem arises becaus the word was written in greek, hebrew, aramic, and some latin. Here's the problem all languges do not have a corrensponding word. example in english Pinto is a horse, in spanish it means don't go. so in trans lating say a greek passage to english there may be no english equal. so the ancient sribes used words or phares as close as possiable, But those words or pharse did not take away from the word of god. That's why we must be carefuk in what bible version we read/study. Example KJV said God created the heavns and the Earth the ,AMP may say . he creaqted the heavn and earth { who is he ] The diety of God is Laot. the NASBD may say heaven and earth was created . [who created what]?
Amen Pastor, however the infalliability of it is not affected, the gospel is simply that Jesus lived, died, rose and ascended, his instructions for our salvation, is to accept him in our lives as Lord and Saviour, and when we do that we are spirit led, not under a law, not led to live according to the flesh, but in Spirit and truth
The orignal text if you will can be found in the Holy Ghost. In that we are to allow the Holy Ghost to give us understanding of God's word, will. and way. I say this in the light that when we study the word of God [bible].
we must pray first and let the Holy Ghost have his way in our mind, heart, body, and spiritguide of understanding]
THat is correct Brother Valentine, but you think the Holy Ghost is in the Godhead. The Holy Ghost is a messenger, just as you laid out here.
My pastor made a statement years ago during one of his sermons that stays with me today . . .

"People (not necessarily everyone) will receive as much of God in their lives as they want of Him."
That is a very wise statement your pastor made / People serv the lord, according to whats convenient to them.
AMEN!!!!!!!!!!
