Hip Hop in the Church
Pastors,Ministers and Church Leaders, would you allow "Hip-Hop" in your churches? Is this a way in keeping our youth in church? I am interested in all feedback concerning this issue.

You state, "Jesus withdrew from the multitude because He knew the hatred of the Jewish leaders and the result of His breaking their man-made laws, and their erroneous understanding of the Sabbath (John 5:10)." Here you are the one using eisegesis. Nowhere in the text is this stated.
John 5:13, "And he that was healed wist not who it was: for Jesus had conveyed himself away, a multitude being in [that] place." Are you trying to say that there were a multitude of Jewish leaders at the Pool of Bethesda? The bible says that there were a multitude of blind, halt and withered, a great multitde of impotent folk. Clearly you are wrong. Further, Jesus engaged the Jews which confronted him concerning this matter.
The demonic attack is a progression that begins with spiritual blindness, halt is referencing a person who has no spiritual growth due to an addiction, lifestyle, etc; and withered means to come to an end or cease to exist.
Again you are not authorized to teach on spiritual (angels & demons) matters. Jesus conveyed himself away from the pool of Bethesda because there were a multitude of spirits which had a legal right to occupy this area or territory.
And again you cannnot even comment on how spirits operate through oppression, deppression and finally possession. This is information that people need to know (revelation) There were times when Jesus removed himself from an area due to the political or social state but this was not one of those times.
I will concede that you are able to teach biblical history, religion, laws and customs without being able to bring any relevant meaning for someone who is oppressed, depressed or possessed of the devil.

You have failed in your overall explanation by not being able to explain why Jesus conveyed himself away from the Pool of Bethesda after asserting that Jewish leaders where there, as if he could only heal one person and had to run away.
As I said he engaged the Jews not long after he left the pool. You cannot explain what you don't know.
Carrying the bed, Sabbath law is all you know (milk). What I am telling you is that you are unable to discern the spiritual things of God according to revelation (meat).
If you look at all of your posts you fail to acknowledge the power of God (Holy Spirit) working in the lives of people today. You think that the Holy Spirit is no longer operating today therefore you cannot see the deep things of the Spirit.

I've watched e-mail after e-mail flow into my mailbox about this particular subject and this has been going on for the last 2 years. I have my particular belief on the subject and others do too (you can check earlier posts). However, it is never OK to be argumentative and judgmental no matter how passionate you are about your beliefs. Concerning this matter though the Apostle Paul says something that I think is interesting in Philippians 1:16-18:
15 It is true that some preach Christ out of envy and rivalry, but others out of goodwill.16 The latter do so out of love, knowing that I am put here for the defense of the gospel. 17 The former preach Christ out of selfish ambition, not sincerely, supposing that they can stir up trouble for me while I am in chains. 18 But what does it matter? The important thing is that in every way, whether from false motives or true, Christ is preached. And because of this I rejoice.
I am like Paul, I know that everyone who does Christian rap is not in it for the right reasons or they might not have a great grasp of that which they are rapping about about, but I rejoice that Christ is being preached. Is that not the aim of all of what we all do? Please let us cease with the personal attacks they are NOT Christ like...Love you with Godly Love.

I believe that we can agree that all you know, quoting Watson is, "BTW, Systematic theology, philosophical theology, Hermeneutics and the Philosophy of Religion are my fields of expertise," Do you really think you are qualified to expound or give an relevant meaning to scriptures when this is all that you know?
Remember that God wants a well rounded minister. God will train his ministers in secular, biblical (theological) and spiritual education the same as he did Moses. Clearly you don't have any secular training or skill, no spiritual aptitude or revelation and somewhat limited theological training. Do you see why God has not called you to preach/teach to the multitude. You minister at a dead church that is filled with 20 or so senior citizens and their poor grandchildren where all you can talk about is Sabbath law.
You could not explain that demons have a legal right to occupy an area or people. Matthew 12:45, " Then goeth he, and taketh with himself seven other spirits more wicked than himself, and they enter in and dwell there: and the last [state] of that man is worse than the first. Even so shall it be also unto this wicked generation. "
You have never witnessed anyone speak in a demonic voices, levitate, move objects an exorcism, etc. The Aftrican warlocks and witches, the real ones originate from Africa, the cradle of all forms of religion and demonic worship or other island geographical locations and move to the U.S. to make money with their demonic power. You know nothing about the power of Satan because Spurgeon or Henry have not taught you. I operate with all power and authority over demonic power through the blood of Jesus and power of the Holy Spirit. I have run into people who said that grandma said that if you don't believe in it that it will not hurt you. It does not matter what you believe, this is real.
Blind, Halt and Withered. You are unable to effectively minister in nursing homes, prisons or the streets because Hillel and Shammai has no practical application. If you ever visit a nursing home and wonder why people scream out, many have been oppressed, depressed and possessed by the devil. Many of the people are catching glimpses of hell. You know nothing about nursing home ministry or how to effectively minister.
I think the only practical application that you have given on your post is when you attacked poor Zachary Tims with scripture. All you could say is that he is going to hell because he did drugs. You are not a minister Watson and a limited teacher at best.
You cannot bring clarity and revelation to the text as to why Jesus conveyed himself away from the multitude in a practical application. This would be the equivalent of you trying to go preach at club "Chocolate City", "Club 2000". Spirits have a legal right to occupy these areas. Your Sabbath day law has no practical or relevant application. You are an educated idiot with no practical application. The school of Hillel and Shammai is all you know, who cares? Do you understand the Christ is soon to return and you had better be able to bring some practical application to a sermon through divine revelation.
You attack everyone on BPN who knows something that you don't know. The African brother on the subject of "Water Baptism", asked you numerous times to explain the typology which he presented of Old Testament Temple Worship {scape goat). You attacked the brother because he gave typology which you do not understand or know.
Watson, I live in Louisiana the capital of witchcraft in the U.S.A. I believe that you reside in New York which is not far behind. You know nothing about witches, warlocks, the power of Satan or how he operates because you have not learned this teaching by Spurgeon or Henry (men). Remember that before God can effectively use you he will give you the training that is required the same as he trained of Moses in the desert. Remember Moses sucessfully confronted Egypts warlocks. Moses was trained secularly, scripturally and spiritually. You my friend are incomplete and lacking.
For you to think that someone follows you on BPN when you are the first one to post a reply to any discussion shows your poor aptitude and that you don't have a job. Finally you have denounced the power of the Holy Spirit working today as it did in the book of Acts numerous times.
Ecclesiastes 12:12, "And further, by these, my son, be admonished: of making many books [there is] no end; and much study [is] a weariness of the flesh." All of your Spurgeon and Henry commentaries have made you a little cuckoo. You have forgotten that they were men. You operate in the natural and not the supernatural power of God. The question should not be about the style of the music or the prose but about the message. Everyone should be encouraged to use the gifts the Lord God gave them for the glory of God. One young man wrote a book"Poems and Prayers - The Hip-Hop Way" that is available as an e-book on http://www.amazon.com. He should be celebrated. When the message glorifies the devil it should be condemned. The communication tools of the future will not necessarily look like what we are used to so we must be flexible enough for the Lord God to trust us with new ideas, all to be used for the glory of our heavenly Father, the Lord God Almighty.

Honestly I think christian hiphop is very contraversial. I believe if God purified and purged all the worldliness then He can use it to speak to not only the youth but to grown adults. Redeemed Hiphop??? I also think modern day gospel music is becoming secular and worldly mixing in with celebrities. Like Mary Mary. I dont think we should spiritually link up with the world and seperate ourselves from them distinctively.
I am a spoken word artist and I know how WORDS can impact people and hiphop can do that. The beats can be used for battle, spiritual warfare, sounds of victory in war, like the drums were used to prepare for battle. But it is important that we do not become like the world. I hate christian hip hop that try to sound worldly , sound like the world. Its horrible it seems like we are replicating the sounds of the world. I wish christian hip hop artist can be creative and transform hiphop culture, influence hiphop. Instead it influencing us.

Yea, I get tired of Mary, Mary on all the secular music award shows. The world throws them in as a token of apprceciation as if they are the only Christian music artists in the world. I believe that they are trying to be a witness to the world. I really don't see that they have compromised there Christian walk. We probably need to support their ministry instead of criticizing. This is probably a platform for them to go out into the world and minister the gospel.

The bible says to speak the word. It does not matter the type of music that accompanies the spoken word. It can have a country western, hip hop, blues, rock, pop, jazz, swag or feel. The bible does not limit how and what type of instruments are used in praise and worship, song and dance. This is some law type crap. The bible is only concerned with speaking and getting the word across to the listener. A particular style of music is purely an individual choice and personal preference.
