I now understand more and more about this so-call world of "Hip-Hop". I understand now why "Hip-Hop"has really no place in our churches and yet it's slowly creeping in our church doors. After hearing all of this, I will stand behind fellow clergy members by NOT allowing "Hip-Hop" into our churches.

Pastors,Ministers and Church Leaders, would you allow "Hip-Hop" in your churches? Is this a way in keeping our youth in church? I am interested in all feedback concerning this issue.

WE LIVE IN A TIME NOW WHERE WE HAVE TO BE ABLE TO MINISTER TO THE YOUNG PEOPLE. IF BRINGING HIPHOP INTO A CHURCH THAT HAS A POSITIVE  MEANING OR SHOULD I SAY WORDS TALKING ABOUT THE LORD THERES NOTHING WRONG WITH THAT. I BELIEVE IF YOU'RE TRYING TO CATCH SHARKS YOU CANT USE WORMS IF YOU'RE TRYING TO CATCH YOUNG PEOPLE YOU CANT CATCH THEM ON THE MUSIC WE WERE BROUGHT UP LISENING TO.YOU'RE NOT GOINGTO REACH OR CATCH THEM WITH IM GOIN UP ON THE ROUGH SIDE OF THE MOUNTAIN...I WONDER YOU MUST DONT HAVE ALOT OF YOUTH IN YOUR CHURCH OR DO YOU ? I DO HOLY HOSTILE TAKEOVER AT MY CHURCH ONCE A MONTH AND THEN I PREACH TO THEM ABOUT 15 MIN. AND THE YOUNG PEOPLE ARE GETTING SAVED BECAUSE AT THE END OF THE DAY AINT THAT WHAT ITS ALL ABOUT SAVING SOULS....SO NO MATTER IF ITS CLASSIC,ROCK,HIPHOP,TRADITIONAL OR WHAT EVER LETS STOP DEBATING AND GO OUT THERE AND WIN SOME SOULS FOR THE KINGDOM ...THE LORD AINT TRIPPIN ON HPHOP SO WHY ARE YOU....LOL JUST SOMETHING TO THINK ABOUT.

Yes I agree Bishop!

amen

No it of the world and it brings spirits from the world of Satan!

I didn't read many of the comments but just to add to and answer the question here's my simple answer: I believe Holy Hip Hop has a place in ministry as a tool to keep our youth, but shouldn't be allowed or used as a dominant role in church ministry. We have an assignment to defend & protect the faith, but not pervert it. So maybe we won't do it every Sunday, but perhaps once a month and with careful monitoring. Like, maybe meet with the artist beforehand (even if its a member) and tell them to do their song one on one with you and other key leaders before That Sunday--so you can hear the lyrics ahead of time. If there's a question of words, have them to write them down so you can read them and follow along. If you don't like what's being said, you can always do one of two things. (A) Like it and allow them to do one number on Sunday or (B) Reject it with a Holy explanation of why not and ask them to change the lyrics or do a different one. Besides, I'm sure we're not gonna let them rap before you deliver the message anyway. Let them do it early or on a Friday night service for the youth. Just a thought.

when you allow things like this to come inside of god house then you are weakening the purpose of what the church is all about for there is a time and season for every thing but this is not the time or the season.

in stead of taken the church to the world. the world is comeing inside of the church some of uses need to go back to the old land mark

Todah/ thank-you Johny Bell~ ...In order for that to happen...the christians would have to have the realization that there Rabbi of choice..was a Jewish teacher and adhered to The Torah which would not exist-if not for the exodus">
~

Simply they would have to get back to biblical teaching of Torah and mitzvots/commandments as Yeshua taught.(Originally)...before the add-ons and misconstruction of texts added over the 1700 years of Romes development of there biblical rendition.

Simply the prayer of Yochannon /John 17:v22 states that he wished/Daven/Prayed that` WE the children Israel would become-One with the Father as he- was one with ABBA.

Simply,...That is Judaism and Kabbalah 101 -in a nutshell.

What is the witness that God gave of himself?HE manifested himself in flesh.....He was not that flesh...but chose to reveal HIs glory and nature through flesh...what does this mean.?this is the pure witness of God to reveal himself through....that which he is not....what things knowthe tihings of a man accept the spirit of the man that is in him....so we see that man will only be able to identify with the things of man..and not of God....so god revealed himself through that which they can understand.....which is man....so it is with every witness that God gives of himself...He chosses to reveal himself through that which the poeple understand...the flesh is just a vehicle to carry god glory....so it is with music..of any kind...i am persuaded that there is nothing unclean of itself....therefore music of any genre can be used a vehicle to transport God's witness...there was a time when that which we deem as pure gospel music was considered by religeous folk in the same light that christian rap music is being viewed now...i have seen and have been witness to souls being won for christ through that of christian rap...God allowed his glory and power and anoiting to be revealed tthrough rap music....amen

Why do you feel you have the right to stop the expression of art in the church just because you don't care for it? 1st you must remember that this is God's house and his doors must be open to all that seek him and are willing to praise him how they see fit. Just think of this; what if the younger members stop coming to church because they didn't like slow, long songs or the elders stop showing up because they didn't like seeing others sisters with exposing tatoos? All is welcomed in the house of the lord Sir, Please do be like that because when all is said and done, you don't have a Heaven or Hell to send anyone to.

This something that I've been thinking about long and hard for some time now. I would have to agree with no Holy Hip Hop in the church. But, it can be used as a very powerful tool for evangelism. I think it's a good tool to draw young people into the church. There still has to be witnessing and teaching of the Word though. In the church, I would have to say no. That's not the place for that.
