I agree with you brother. I would like to know how people defend this concept when it is not a biblical one. There is the issue of accountability, not covering. Those are two seperate concepts. I am accountable to my presbyter or denominational heirarchy (if affiliated). If independent, one must be accountable to someone else, but that person has no power or authority to manipulate or control another's ministry, giftings, or in most cases, promotions.
