Hi Anthony,

Debit cards are the cheapest, IMHO, I have found to be the Amex most expensive, period. However, that is for a business not a ministry.

Blessings
This seems to be too much like conducting a business rather than running a church.
True, just wondering if the trend is a distraction or a way of producing more money.
Yeah, hey, sure, go for it. the church should use this modern day technology to advance the kingdom of God. Remember how Paul used his Roman citizenship to get himself out of a world of trouble? (Acts 22:25-30).

Yes, while we are in the world system but not of the world system we must utilize every good thing to our advantage. So again, go for it.
It doesn't feel right in my spirit but I can't see anything wrong with it, tithes and offering where once crops, then we were able to write checks, ...... I don't see that different from using a debit card?
I think because of folks going into dept. I would have to say no. I know some folks use checks from their online banking account & what's the difference from using a check or a debit card, I would have to say no to the credit card, but I don't see the difference it's all a form of giving currency. I think what's important is that folks only give if they can afford to give. Remember you can give to the Church with your talent or time.

I read some where that paying of tithes is considered unnecessary in some quarters of the church but if you would like to give a tenth of your income as an offering to God it is yours to give.

Abraham was the first man ever recorded in the bible to give tithes to God. Read the full account in Genesis 14.

The biggest argument against paying tithes seems to be with its association with the law. Although godly men before the Law fulfilled the practice of tithing, the Law of Moses made it mandatory.

Leviticus 27: 30 - 32 states that
30 "'A tithe of everything from the land, whether grain from the soil or fruit from the trees, belongs to the LORD; it is holy to the LORD. 31 If a man redeems any of his tithe, he must add a fifth of the value to it. 32 The entire tithe of the herd and flock--every tenth animal that passes under the shepherd's rod--will be holy to the LORD. 33 He must not pick out the good from the bad or make any substitution. If he does make a substitution, both the animal and its substitute become holy and cannot be redeemed.'"

Yours truly,
Anthony Smith
