WERE THE APOSTLES LIARS WHO BLATANTLY DISOBEYED, DISHONORED, DISREGARDED AND DISRESPECTED JESUS?

HERE IS A LINE OF QUESTIONS NOT MEANT TO INFLAME BUT GIVING OF HONEST ANSWERS.

1. Why would the APOSTLES say something totally different than Jesus said as to how we should baptize?

2. Did they merely have a better understanding of Jesus and his word, than we do?

3.Were the Apostles being blatantly disobedient to Christ since they did not baptize in the trinity?

4. If so, shouldn't we disregard every book of the bible written, by the Apostles? The whole new testament?

5. Could it be that they had a deeper understanding in that Jesus didn't want to say "Baptize them in my Name"?

6. Could it be that they understood him to be God, therefore none of them baptized in any other way but in the Name of Jesus?

7. Could it be that they were not disobeying but understanding what Jesus was commanding them to do?

There is already a discussion on baptism so I wish to have those who believe in trinity baptism to expound on the above questions and to show why we should Eliminate or Ignore the scriptures that state that we should baptize in Jesus name.

PLEASE REMEMBER IF YOUR ONLY ANSWER IS BECAUSE YOU’D RATHER OBEY GOD THAN MAN, PLEASE STATE WHAT WE SHOULD DO WITH THE OTHER SCRIPTURES. REMEMBER, IT WAS ONE OF THE APOSTLES THAT SAID IT IS BETTER TO OBEY GOD THAN MAN.

Praise the Lord EW,

I have been baptized According to Acts 2:38. But for alot of the saints that baptize in Jesus Name - not only do they believe that its the CORRECT way to baptize but they dont even want to hear the titles at all.

I believe that baptizing in Jesus' Name but I dont have a problem saying something like:

'AS JESUS COMMANDED TO BAPTIZE THEM IN THE NAME OF THE FATHER, SON AND HOLYGHOST - I THEREFORE BAPTIZE YOU IN THE NAME OF JESUS CHRIST FOR THE REMISSIONS OF YOUR SINS'

What would be wrong with that formula?
This way those that feel you cant go wrong following Jesus' instructions and those that feel the Apostles had the correct interpretation of what Jesus was trying to convey in his command to baptize - Everybody would get what they want.

Because even though I feel that the Apostles baptized correctly - I can see people wanting to follow what Jesus said VERBATIM.

Would you have a problem with incorporating both in the baptism?
Most apostolic saints I know have a real problem of even using the titles at all - even in a prayer - as if what Jesus said was blasphemy.
I dont get it.

.
NEWVIEW,
Once again you sound like my twin. LOL. I made that statement on the baptism forum that's currently on. As a matter of fact, I conveyed in the post that Marvin Winans church in Detroit made a total switch from trinity baptism as he use to be C.O.G.I.C. and used the exact formula which Includes, trinity and the name of Jesus Christ.

I don't see anything wrong with that formula as we can plainly see that Jesus statement is being corroborated by the apostles understanding of his word. Based on their walk and fellowship with him we can not discount their writings.

When I was C.O.G.I.C. I was trinity baptized but coming out of C.O.G.I.C. I was baptized in the name of Jesus. I do agree that many apostolic folk are stubborn and overbearing with their belief on baptism and run others away, but that don't squash the truth. On the flip side. I also see Trinitarians who refuse to except Jesus Name. I don't get that.

This common ground of using both makes more since but people need to get out of the flesh and count up the cost. What if your soul and the remission of your sins really did require the use of JESUS NAME? HMMM?
Amen EW!,....LOL!!!!!
Brother Leigh,
I understand your frustration. I have dealt with Apostolic people before I was re-baptized. They are sometimes very rude in trying to convey the scripture. I don't believe I said that we're the only ones saved. I only asked, can we discount the scriptures written by the apostles and count them as disobedient. Did you read what Newview Stated. Isn't it worth checking into? Please don't be upset with the questions. I am curios to know how we should deal with the many scriptures that say Baptize in Jesus name for the remission of sin.

Do you think that we should include both as illustrated above to cover our behinds?...
Is the believe in this scripture as simple as someone saying they believe or does action follow? Many say they believe in God but are not living for God or even professing God.

James 2:19
Thou believest that there is one God; thou doest well: the devils also believe, and tremble.

Since the devils believe, are they saved too? Just a question.
Busby So you don't believe anyone Should get water baptized for salvation?
E.W,i'm going with your statement,to answer the majority of these questions.
(they merely have a better understanding of Jesus and his word, than we do)
.Saying that to say,John 20;30 And many other signs truly did Jesus ,in the presence of His disciples, which are not written in this book.
I truly feel that the Lord knew this conversation would come about, just as He knew the various religions we would have, here and now.Matthew28;19-Go ye therfore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the son,and of the Holy Ghost.
The bible says One Body, many members, and the comment of newview,is the most logical way to deal with this issue if you're not of a certain denomination!
He did use the Apostles,as a role model, but in the same breathe let us see them as mere men.
(Could it be that they were not disobeying but understanding what Jesus was commanding them to do?)
Matt 28;20- Teaching them to (OBSERVE) all things whatsoever I have commanded you: And lo I am with you always, even unto the end,of the world. The Key Word Is OBSERVE!!
We all know Jesus as the Son but the scriptures below will show that he is also The Father and The Holy Ghost.

JESUS AS THE FATHER
Isaiah 9:6
For unto us a child is born, unto us a son is given: and the government shall be upon his shoulder: and his name shall be called Wonderful, Counsellor, The mighty God, The everlasting Father, The Prince of Peace.

JESUS AS THE HOLY GHOST
Acts 20:28
Take heed therefore unto yourselves, and to all the flock, over the which the Holy Ghost hath made you overseers, to feed the church of God, which he hath purchased with his own blood.
Della I see you are very strong willed on the issue of the Apostles Doctrine...LOL. I understand which is why I wanted to see the above questions answered. No one will dare touch any of them. If anyone dares to just answer just one of the questions they would have to denounce their Trinitarian Doctrine. The only answers we seem to get on similar post is how much they disagree with Oneness (The Apostles Doctrine). No direct answers given.

One question I asked someone directly was, Who is our Lord, Jesus or the Father? Seeing that there is only One Lord, One Faith...etc.

They simply gave me the definition of Lord but wouldn't answer the actual question. I asked it again to no avail. This is usually the way of avoiding to agree with the truth.
Yeah!! LOL! So True Sister I have that same list all they can do it either Ignore those questions or sidetrack us to getting our attention on something else! LOL! Great Job!!! Love in Christ Della
