I am new to this site as I have just joined a few days ago. And I have been going through some of the discussions and I must say that this site is alright. But one thing that I've been very curious about since I've began my Christian walk is titles. While I've seen the post regarding titles, many of which (titles) have gotten ridculous one that intrigues me is the title of Apostle. Now through my studying of the scriptures I have come to the opinion that the 12 that Jesus called we know as apostles, and we know that Paul was called to be an apostle. One thing I've learned through a study of the scriptures is that a prerequisite for apostleship was seeing the rising Christ for themselves.

That being said and if my interpretation of the scripture is correct why are so many people today taking on the title of apostle? When not even the first prerequsite has been met, not to mention the apostles word was always followed by miracles, signs and wonders. And Apostles were never stationed in one place they wee always on the move spreading the gospel yet today people with the title, really are just pastors over a local congregation? And I wont really get into the fact that every named apostle in the bible was a mam! But I would love to hear comments and input from all those around the world.
