Hi Prophet David, I always love to honor many of the questions as you pose. They are thought provoking. You asked, 'what does the Bible mean by the term "one body" as in Romans 12:4-5.

It means all true believers are literally the body of Christ. Christ is the head and each individual believer makes up the 'neck down' so to speak. :-) We all count. We are all important. As Romans points out, 'we are all a part' of the body. What part, we don't specifically know but the important thing is we are a 'necessary' part.

As so, each believer is worthy of respect, and to disrespect one part of the body is to alter and bring down the body for the body needs to be healthy to function properly.

The different parts of the spiritual body of Christ performs a variety of services just as the 'physical' body does. Paul speaks of some being teachers, preachers, generous donators of finances, prophets/prophetess, etc. To prophesy could mean to be the chest or hand of the body. To teach could mean to be the foot or leg of the body. To give could mean one is the fingers or knees of the Body.

So, that's basically what it means to be 'one body'.
