Dr. Marian Brooks serves as the senior pastor of a new church plant, Maranatha Ministries Prayer & Worship Center in Jackson, Mississippi. She is new to the state, moving there in 2007 at the word of the Lord, "This is the land of your anointing". Her vision is for a 24 hour urban ministry center along with a prayer clinic open to meet the needs of the urban sector. Her professional interests are developing and writing curriculum for use in urban ministry environments. She is opening a seminary that merges faith with scholarship. She is a published author and is currenty writing bible studies for use in small ministries. Marian walks with an apostolic mantle (one sent to establish doctrine and plant ministries), a prophetic voice (trumpet blower) and in the spirit of Ezra (a ready scribe sent to teach the chosen people the basic precepts they had long forgotten). She is a humble and unassuming woman of faith, and has a heart of leading the "church that the church forgot". Her ministry call at Maranatha is to a back-to-the-basics bible teaching center, to restore extravagant worship to the temple, and to institute unabashed prayer as a way of ministry. She continues to walk by her life scripture, "And Enoch walked with God..." Genesis 5:24
