Executive Board Member and Academic Dean for the School of Religious Studies (Little Rock, Arkansas). Member of the Board of Regents for Metropolitan Christian University (Louisville, Kentucky).

Former Professor of History at Joliet Junior College in Joliet, Illinois; Former Professor of History at Southwestern Christian College in Terrell, Texas. Author of three (3) books: "My Soul Looks and Wonders... How I Got Over," "The Power of His Penetrating Presence" and "Can I Get A Witness?" Certified by the National Christian Counselors Association as a Licensed Clinical Pastoral Counselor and Temperament Therapist. Congregations served in Chicago, IL; Cincinnati, OH; and Milwaukee, WI.

Favorite music genre is Contemporary Jazz. Favorite recording artists include John Coltrane, Bob James, Aretha Franklin, Gladys Knight, Billie Holiday, Sam Cooke, Jaheim, and Herbie Hancock. All time favorite group is the Temptations with David Ruffin and Ali-Ollie Woodson. Favorite hobby is chess.

Married to the former Brenda J. Martin in 1974. Two adult children: Dortricia Penn, JD, Esq., and Danielle Penn-Lusby, Ed.D., a Secondary Administrator. Two granddaughters, Rian Danielle Penn-Willingham and Kendall Dior Penn-Dorsey.
