Rev. Cameron D. Jenkins, born in Jacksonville, Florida on July 7, 1996 to Tamara M. Jenkins and Phillip J. Burrow, is the elder of two children. At a young age, he, his mother, and his little sister, Ariel, relocated to Birmingham, Alabama, where they currently reside.
Rev. Jenkins received the Holy Ghost at the age of five. He has been preaching and teaching the Gospel of Jesus Christ since the tender age of nine years old. By the time he was thirteen, he was a licensed messenger of the Gospel. Since Rev. Jenkins is in college, he presently serves as an Associate and Youth Minister at the Pilgrim Rest Missionary Baptist Church, where he is under the watch care of Pastor Walter E. Ellis in Montgomery, Al. But he takes great pleasure in sharing that his home church is West End Hills Missionary Baptist Church in Birmingham, AL, where Pastor Dennis L. Brown is his pastor.
Affectionately called “The young preacher with the old soul”, his ministry has changed lives, saved souls, and redirected paths. Many people have been inspired by Rev. Jenkins because of his faithfulness and dedication to mission work. Rev. Jenkins feeds the homeless, spends valuable time with the elderly, visits and prays for the sick and shut-in, and also intercedes for the both the strong, and the weary, through the prayer line.
Rev. Jenkins is recent graduate of G.W. Carver High School where he was the Announcer and spokesperson of his beloved Mighty Marching Rams. He held the office of Chaplain not only for the Carver High School band program, but for the entire high school itself! He was also the president of “First Priority” . When he was not promoting Christ in the schools, Rev. Jenkins served as an office assistant. Out of the office, he served as the President of the Student Government Association, a member the “Dress For Success” program, and the Student Superintendent Advisory Board, He is also a state representative for DECA, He is now a Freshman at Alabama State University where he serves as the Teacher of two weekly bible studies, Chief of Staff of Martin Luther King Jr. Residence Hall, a Lifetime member of Nu Alpha Nu Service Fraternity Inc. & He is proud to say that he is encouraging the youth to Strive For The Top because the Bottom is Much Too Crowded.
“My biography tells about my life on paper, which is ok. But, when you look me in my face you will always see a Called, Chosen, and Commissioned servant of God. Only because of God’s grace and mercy have I been born again, and I can truly stand here today and say, over and over again, that it is in my heart, my mind, and my soul to serve the Lord. Now, I may be young but I know for a fact that serving the Lord will certainly pay off… not after while…but right now…” --Reverend Cameron D. Jenkins
