BANGKOK – Responding to international criticism that its initial donation of $20,000 was insufficient, the Thai government has generously added 50,000 bottles of whitening skin cream to its aid shipment to earthquake-stricken…

Are you a "wysiwyg" (what you see is what you get) person? Do you consider yourself an authentic individual?
Have you ever met someone, (and I know you have) who ... who is just plain "plastic" in other words, a fake and a phony? This type of woman or man tries to be… or pretends to be what they are not. I meet these type of people all the time. It's like they are hell bent on proving something to someone, or that they are better than others. Self love is apparently lacking, poor…

AOL became famous for it's "you got mail" thingy and a lot of people join it because of it. They loved to hear the "you got mail" when they logged on to their computers. When I was first introduced to the online social networks, I admit it was amazing. It's been just over 2 years now, first I join Facebook, next it was MyChurch and then the others came... "Ning" and now my own Christian Soul Saving Network,
Word4UTVNetwork.
I learned a lot in the…

The Strong Black Woman: Myth or Reality?
I was having a conversation with a group of women today, and the subject of the "Strong Black Woman" came up. It was with a mixed group and I found the discussion absolutely fascinating.
So I want to engage your thinking (my brothers and sisters) as well. What is your definition of a Strong Black Woman. Is she a myth or reality?
Brothers: How do/would you define her? Do you or would you embrace her as your partner in…

This new world called "Online Social Network" is still a novelty for some if not most of us over 50. We join social network sites that we feel we can relate to, and go to great pains to set up our profile page so that it reflects who we are.
I don't know about you all, but for me, I was really nervous at first, about clicking on other people profile pictures and requesting their friendship. I really didn't know what to expect. So here it is a year later, and I have memberships on…

Dear President (Elect) Barack Obama,
Thank you. I speak on behalf of me and my family and perhaps many families not only from across the nation, but from around the world. Thank you for answering the call of leadership, thank you for making the selfless sacrifice of your personal life to give of yourself to change the world for the better.
I can see the great joy of the ancestors, as they celebrate this day. I see the enslaved Africans who toiled to build the very White…

Congratulations America!
America we did it, yes we did it together
young and old, rich and poor
We did it together
With an overwhelming voice
we slienced the voices of hatred and fear and racism
America we did it, yes we did it together
Black and White and all shades in between
We did it together
With a single vote multiplied
and with the entire world watching to see
Just how powerful a voice and a vote can be...…

When I realized that I was pregnant, I thought to myself, oh no, not me, and in my old age. God you can't be serious? Like Sara, of the Old Testament I was pregnant indeed. As in any pregnancy, you become more and more anxious as you get closer to you due date, but the thing with me was I didin't know my due date. I was pregnant for 5years, and I wondered if I set some sort of record for the longest pregnancy ever.
After being pregnant for so long, you begin to think you're never…

Wow I constantly meet christians who are so caught up in this prosperity ring. That's what I call it, a ring, because it appears that more and more, people forget that the Lord requires something from us, as opposed to us expecting something from Him. After all, did not Jesus pay it all on the cross? Did not Jesus, shed his blood for the remission of our sins? Are we not the benefactors of such a supreme sacrifice!
You would think that the bible was all about prosperity. Now…

How many missed opportunities did you have today? Umm? How many times did you missed a chance to be about your Father's business today? Umm? In our fast-paced, busy, busy, daily please move out of my way, cause I've got-to-get-things-done-ness, we often times forget that we are to be about our Father's business, in the midst of the no see-ums.
What about when you were standing on the check out line in the department store, and you saw that mother struggling with her young child who…

Now, O Israel, what does the LORD your God ask of you but to fear the LORD your God, to walk in all his ways, to love him, to serve the LORD your God with all your heart and with all your soul, and to observe the LORD's commands and decrees that I am giving you today for your own good?
Deuteronomy 10:12-13
God loves us so much and yes believe it or not, He wants us to love Him also. We show our love to Him by our deep devotion to His Word, not just an occasional…

You know we can get pretty comfortable in our stuff, I tell ya. Comfortable in complaining, comfortable in idleness, comfortable in sitting back and letting a few do the work of many.
So I ask, who is ready to get up off their ass-ets, and exercise their gifts and talents for the Lord. I know many of us have our own ministries, and that's a beautiful thing, but there are still many who aren't doing much of anything other than (can I go there...?) looking for love in all the wrong…
