You know what, if we don't continually abide in Christ, we CAN'T love. The mind is not renewed at the point of salvation. If it were, we would not be told to renew it. We think of love as being a "feeling" but it isn't. It is a decision. It is a person deciding to love in spite of how they feel, in spite of the situation they are in, and in spite of the other person not loving them.

This is how god loved us... while we were still sinners who didnt' love him .. he loved us

We don't understand that kind of love. We want all things to feel right and to be right before we can love. We do this in most of our relationships, especially our romantic relationships. Jesus loved His bride BEFORE she even acknowleges Him as her groom. He not only loved her but gave Himself for her. Again, not a concept we want to really embrace.

I tell my kids that the word of God commands us to LOVE. But I also tell them that we are NOT commanded to like a person. I don't have to like what a person does, like how they look, like how they smell, dress or like anything about them in order to love them. I don't have to be your buddy, your pal, your ace boom to love you. And even stretching it further, I don't even have to know you at all... to love you. Our love for others has little to nothing to do with the other person. But is MUST reside in our relationship with Christ.

There are some people that I would rather see dead than love them. That is my natural flesh inclination for what they've done or who they are. But my will chooses to override that fleshly opinion and put on the mind of Christ.

"I'm only human" is a mere excuse to give in to all that is considered your flesh. I can do ALL things through Christ who gives me strength. I'm more than a conqueror through Christ. Apart from Him I can do NOTHING... especial love someone else.

Pastor Bell, we can't love because WE can't love! That's the root problem that Christ came and fixed. He left us His Holy Spirit. I have to wath my mouth when I say that I don't have patience for a thing. Why? Because if the Holy Spirit is in me then I HAVE patience... i just don't use it. It's available to me through Him... I just don't ask for help in being patient. Likewise, without the One who dwells within, we can't love. we just can't! At least not agape. For any Believer to say that they just can't forgive a person... then they don't know who they are IN Christ.

A table has been spread for us in the very presence of our Adversary or enemy. On that table isn't mere food, but it is EVERYTHING that pertains to life and godliness. Everything we need has been provided. If you CAN'T love or CAN'T forgive, just ask and you shall receive it. Like going thru a buffet line that has been prepared for you, just tell the Lord what you want.. ask and you shall receive it.

Amen Rev. Luckett. there is only so much you can do after you REPEATEDLY go after that "one" sheep. Remember, some plan, others, water and God gives the increase. There may be times when God only wants you to plant a seed in someone... to just spark an interest. Every evangelical moment you have with someone may not lead to their conversion. Maybe you are just to be loving towards them without even mentioning the gospel... just BE the gospel message.

Remember, sheep typically represents Believers anyway. So the one who is lost already knows the Savior and is just caught up in something that more than likely only the Good Shepherd can get them out of anyway.

Like Rev. Luckett, we just do our part and pray for them and keep going.

I think if we have this perspective, we won't be "burdened" by those who reject the gospel.

I'm not hard hearted at all. If anything, my friends accuse me of having a "Savior" mentality...meaning, I just want to help EVERYONE.

Well I'm not omnipresent and can't help everyone. I mean I would get depressed because I couldn't help people. Actually, it was my hubby who helped me understand that we are to help those that GOD places within our paths or the ones He places on our hearts. We are not THE Savior, He already died to save everyone. That is not a burden that our little finite shoulders can bear. Help those that you CAN help and keep stepping. Let God do the rest.

His yoke is easy and His burden is light because although you are yoked together with Him like two oxen, HE is the one carrying the load. He carries his and he carries yours because he is IN you ... isn't that amazing!

you know, the one thing that surprises me more than anything is when Believers are surprised when people do what the Bible says they will do or what others have done in the past.

What do I mean? Well, when people say that the times are getting worse... isn't that predicted in God's word. Isn't there going to be a suppose to be a falling away? Won't the love of many wax cold? Isn't there a narrow road because only few will travel on it; yet broad is the way that leads to destruction.

I know, it doesn't change the fact that we don't like it and that we want to speak about it. But we shouldn't be surprised at all when it happens.

The prophesies of the coming Christ, the Messiah are all through the Old Testatment and yet, the very people entrusted with this knowledge were the ones who killed Him.

And the very one's who are called by His name along with those of whom we were "grafted into" in this day and age, crucify Him yet again by our actions. (Heb 6)

*sigh*
