First let me say I thank God for you great men and women of God, for your wisdom, insight, intelligence, spiritual awareness and discernment, etc. I could go on. I read and draw from as many topics as I can and have been both blessed and taught. This particular topic interested me because my brother, who is a Deacon, found himself in such a situation. In trying to do what he thought was right in keeping the church moving along until a Pastor was called in to lead. It turned out badly and almost split the church, but the prayers of many brought them through. Now they have a great Pastor and are doing well. But the turmoil that ensued while my brother was at the helm took its toll on everyone. Satan jumped right in the midst, ego's grew, jealousy flourished, sides were taken, and lines were drawn. It was not pretty. My brother is happy to be back in his job as Deacon and told me he will never let that happen to him again. I know for such we should be walking on the path that God laid out not the one that man calls us to.

"As a Preacher I have learned that one foot is in the people s problem and one is in the solution,,,but if you cannot first tap into what brought them into there problem,,then you will find yourself SPIRITUALIZING EVERYTHING when somethings is in the mind setting not the spirit setting"
WOW; finally, it is as I have received a breath of fresh air.
If I may, I would like to address the quoted comment above; Brother Hancock, you touched on something that has been a problem for me a long time. It is sad when a lay person such as me looks for help and guidance with issues that we face or better yet struggle with, and instead receive "spiritualized" canned, pat answers. Granted every Pastor or leader is not equipped to handle certain issues, so what do you do? I know there's help. For instance I am victorious in many areas of my life, yet I am held back by others, God has shown me it is because of unbelief in that area.
Pastor Bell please forgive me for asking a question on your topic. Bro. Hancock I am also interested in the book NO LONGER CRIPPLED
God Bless you both

A church does need a Pastor to be effective different callings has different anointing and a Pastor has the spiritual and natural ability to tend to the people in a God like way just as Jesus represented. What happens when a Deacon steps into a role that he was not anointed or appointed to walk in causes spiritual CONFUSION you can't not let a GOAT teach SHEEP. All SHEEP need a SHEPHERD to protect and guide them and discern danger when it's coming a shepherd will care for his sheep and feed them food to help them grow a shepherd has patience and love for the sheep when it wanders off and when that sheep gets stuck the shepherd comes along and pulls the sheep out and holds it up until it becomes strong to walk on it's own. No Deacon is appointed and granted the discernment to care for sheep in this way.

May God Bless you ,,,I believe and know you will be the BEST,,,I love your spirit,,,I feel in Order for God to use you to Minister,,I heard Bishop Noel Jones say that you must first Prepare the mind to receive what God has because people are carrying things from child hood and we are taught not to talk about it ,,but we need to use the resources that is here to get over it,,not so much as going over the steps of hurt but STEPPING OVER HURT

As a Preacher I have learned that one foot is in the people s problem and one is in the solution,,,but if you cannot first tap into what brought them into there problem,,then you will find yourself SPIRITUALIZING EVERYTHING when somethings is in the mind setting not the spirit setting
Be Blessed my Sister

Psych huh?? LOL. I agree with you. We get so super spiritual that we miss a lot that God is trying to do to and thru us. I"m training to be a Biblical Counselor and there is much. MUCH that has to be learned about the mind and emotions from a biblical view. I'm actually at lunc break from a class right now. LOL

Alot I studied and kept notes,,before I was a preacher I first was a Bible study Teacher, and have a numerous of search engines ,and took courses in Psychology,,,because we some times spiritualize too much, but never mentally challenge NOTHING
