FORGIVENESS/ HATE IN THE CHURCH!!!!!!! CAN IT REALLY HAPPEN?

I WAS COUSELING A COUPLE WHO HAVE BEEN MARRIED FOR 20 YEARS AND THE PROBLEM IS THE WIFE CANT FORGIVE HER HUSBAND FOR SOMETHING THAT HAPPEN 15 YEARS AGO, ONE MEMBER CANT FORGIVE ANOTHER MEMBER FOR SOMETHING THEY SAID SOMETHING ABOUTH HER CHILD 10 YEARS AGO .WHAT EVER HAPPEN TO FORGIVENESS IN THE CHURCH . HOW CAN A PERSON WORK IN DIFF MINSTERY AND HAVENT FORGIVEN . HOW CAN A PASTOR/PREACHER LEAD OR PREACH WITH A UNFOR GIVEN SPIRIT. HOW DO WE HANDLE APERSON MAD AT SOMEONE WHOM THERE PARENT IS MAD AT ,STILL MAD AT EX WIFE,HUSBAND. CHURCHES AGAINST CHURCH/ STREET MINSTER AGAINST PASTORS. WHAT CAN WE DO WHEN THE CHURH IS GOING TO HELL?

Forgiving does not simply mean saying “I’m sorry” or “I apologize”. When someone begs to be excused he is not actually confessing his guilt. Rather he would be attempting to justify his ways. He would be considering his sin as something light that can be dealt with lightly. Obviously, if someone steps on your foot unintentionally, it would be appropriate for him to respond by saying, “I apologize.” But when you bawl unreasonably, or show a haughty spirit, or lie, or do anything sinful, you may not simply excuse yourself. Your duty, in that case, is to admit your guilt and ask for forgiveness.

What, then, is forgiveness according to the Scriptures? David wrote: “Blessed is he whose transgression is forgiven, whose sin is covered. Blessed is the man unto whom the Lord imputeth (charge, ascribe, credit) not iniquity, and in whose spirit there is no guile” (Psalms 32:1,2). When sin is forgiven it is done away with; the Lord no longer considers the sinner as guilty. God covers the offence and cancels all debt incurred, as He promised in Hebrews 10:17: “Their sins and iniquities will I remember no more.”

So, effectively, forgiveness is a promise made by the offended party that he will no longer mention the offence. The sin in question will not be raised up again, neither with the offending party nor with anyone else. When you forgive your neighbour, you are practically saying: “I promise you that the evil-doing you did against me will not come between us any more. I won’t mention it at all in the future.”

Comment by Rev. Sidnei on July 22, 2009 at 4:02pm: Unfortunately this is commom in our churches today but the majority are so holier than thou that they will not forgive & move on. They believe that if I forgive then I'm a punk but forgiving actually helps them to move on. I use to hold on things so much that I felt like a pressure cooker until I actually popped. Don't let your past keep you from moving on in Christ. It is keep you bound with a loose around your neck. Even if you continue to serve and sing in the choir you are still bound and standing still. Forgive, let go, and let God. I will not let my past keep me from where God is taking me. God has so much for His children but we let petty little issues get in the way of something so much greater than us. That is one of the main tactics the devil use to keep you from moving forward. Don't see with your eyes but with your heart. If you love God and want Him to forgive you, you have to be willing to forgive.

Comment by Tara Robinson on July 22, 2009 at 3:37pm: One thing we must remember if you don't forgive God WILL NOT hear your prayers and if God is not listening then you should be scared. As a counselor i run into these problems all the time among the church and i found out when a person wont forgive is because so how they want you to pay for there pain.

There is always an under currrent present that we don't always see that feeds this kind of anger which usually is a result from pass problems they have never received deliverance for. Being stubborn is as Rebellion and it must we dealt with one bad seed will spoil the bunch.

We must deal with our self before we can deal with anyone else Pastor Bell that woman has more then what she is presenting bothering her get to the root of it so what she does don't pass to other women in the church.
