HE WHO FINDS A WIFE....
How many times have you heard the scripture quoted... He who finds a wife finds a good thing; and obtains favor from the LORD. Most who quote that scripture don't even know where it is in the Bible let alone what other scriptures is correlates to. But they use it to prove that women shouldnt be out searching for a husband and men should be on the hunt for a wife. But is this really what this passage means? Are their companion scriptures to go along with this passage? Just how does one go about obtaining a "holy hook-up"?
Friends, the PERFECT example of a "holy hook-up" is ADAM AND EVE!!!! I don't go around desiring a Boaz. Ruth was in a desperate situation.... desperate times calls for desperate measures!!! Like most women who are desperate, BOTH Naomi and Ruth devised a plan to get the man. Basically, they "worked the system"... you feel me? But see, that story is not a romantic story per se. It is God's example to us of a KINSMEN REDEEMER...not a holy hook-up. If you want to put a romantic spin on it you can focus on the fact that Ruth purposely positioned herself to be found by Boaz. I'm not desiring Boaz because I am not desperate like Ruth. Yes, our Father used the situation to continue the bloodline of our Lord and Savior Christ Jesus. And He will use the situation we get ourselves into and can't get out of IF WE LET HIM. (There's nothing impossible for God to fix!!)
But brothers and sisters... look to Genesis for your perfect marriage example. "When a man finds a wife...." Look at Adam. How did Adam "find" Eve. Did Adam do the searching. NO, Adam did not go searching to find a wife! Let's go to the word...
GENESIS 2:18-23 (NASB)
18 Then the LORD God said, "It is not good for the man to be alone; I will make him a helper suitable for him."
19 Out of the ground the LORD God formed every beast of the field and every bird of the sky, and brought them to the man to see what he would call them; and whatever the man called a living creature, that was its name.
20 The man gave names to all the cattle, and to the birds of the sky, and to every beast of the field, but for Adam there was not FOUND a helper suitable for him.
21 So the LORD God caused a deep sleep to fall upon the man, and he slept; then He took one of his ribs and closed up the flesh at that place.
22 The LORD God fashioned into a woman the rib which He had taken from the man, and brought her to the man.
23The man said, "This is now bone of my bones, and flesh of my flesh; she shall be called Woman, because she was taken out of Man."
The first thing we see in this passage is the FATHER saying that it was not good for man to be alone. He then repeats this comment in verse 20..."for Adam there was not FOUND a helper suitable for him." Who was doing the searching? The Father was...
In this passage we see Adam busy about the Father's business. Adam was busy doing the assignment God gave him; cultivating and keeping the garden (Gen 2:15); and also naming the animals (Gen 2:19) - How many of you know that a person with dominion can name a thing and it be so!! That is the authority that God gave man (Gen 1:28) but that's another sermon LOL
In this passage the Father put man to sleep and out of what was already in him (Adam), the Father created a helper that was "suitable" for Adam. Don't you know that there are many women who can be your helper men but not all are "suitable". I could be of help to every man here on BPN but I may not be "suitable" for all. I could help you but not like you at all. The gifts and talents that are within a woman automatically make her helpful to man but that doesn't mean we should hook up with every man we can help and men it doesn't men you should hook up romantically with every woman that can be helpful to you!! Wait for your mate!!!
We also see in this passage that while the Father was fashioning the woman, he kept Adam asleep. Don't you know surgery creates a wound? Notice it said that God after God took the rib from Adam, he "closed up the flesh AT THAT PLACE". Adam needed time to heal saints!!! Don't you know a wounded man is no good for a woman.
Don't you know that a woman who is not whole and is in the middle of being "fashioned" by the Lord God Elohim is no good for a man? Eve was under construction. God wasn't going to give Adam just any old partial pieces unwhole woman! He made mankind (man/woman) after HIS image. God is whole...not fragmented....not broken...but He has power, love and a sound mind... emotions in tact!!
They BOTH must be complete. None of this "you complete me" stuff anymore saints. You must be WHOLE in order to be ONE. The two became one... not the half and half became one! Please understand that ok.
Men of God, allow God to make you emotionally WHOLE if you have been broken. We know you can be hurt by your past like everyone else. Women, allow God to fashion you and make you fit for that man.
The other aspect of "suitable" is this phrase...."after its kind". Let's look at Genesis 1:24-27; 2:23 (to save space I will only quote 2 of the verses in this passage)
Gen 1:25 God made the beasts of the earth after their kind, and the cattle after their kind, and everything that creeps on the ground after its kind; and God saw that it was good.
Gen 1:27 God created man in His own image, in the image of God He created him; male and female He created them.
Gen 2:23 The man said, "This is now bone of my bones, and flesh of my flesh; she shall be called Woman, because she was taken out of Man."
Remember, ONLY HOOK UP WITH SOMEONE WHO IS LIKE MINDED AS YOU. Have you ever noticed that not ALL Believers think the same thing, say the same thing, do the same thing. Do you know the problems you will cause yourself when you marry a person who does will speak against your purpose! The bird hooks up with a bird because they have the same purpose! The bear mates with a bear because they have the same purpose! What does a bird and a bear have in common other than they both begin with the letter "b"! Men and women of God... just because a person is a Believer doesn't mean they are of the same "kind" as you. Just because they are a Believer doesn't mean that they will be able to walk along side with you. They may have a totally different purpose in the Body of Christ. Don't try to FORCE a relationship that isn't working just because you both have the "b" of Believer in common saints!
Now to finally get to my main point... Adam didnt search for Eve... the Father did the searching. After Adam healed and after Eve was fashioned... and both were complete and whole... well read it for yourselves:
Gen 2:22The LORD God fashioned into a woman the rib which He had taken from the man, and brought her to the man.
THE FATHER BROUGHT EVE TO ADAM!
Adam was use to seeing lions and tigers and bears OH MY! He hadn't seen anything LIKE HIMSELF. When Adam "found" her boy was he happy!!!
Have you ever been going about your day and looked down on the ground and found a $20 dollar bill? Were you searching for it? No. But did you still find it... yes...you did. You were in a place where you could find it and it was in a place where it could be found!!!
Now if you want to see this again, I encourage you to read Genesis chapter 24
You will see the FATHER sending his servant to find a wife for his son.
The prerequisite was that the woman was to be of the same "kind" as the Father and therefore would be suitable for the son.
The other prerequisite was that the woman must be WILLING to follow....knowing that her destiny and purpose was linked to that man who had the same destiny and purpose. If she wasn't willing to
follow...leave her alone!
The servant sought the Lord, the Lord answered the prayer and guess what... like the $20 bill, the woman was in a place where should be found (that place was doing the work of her father). The servant brought the woman to the son and when the son looked up... glory to God... he FOUND his wife!!!
Who does the searching?
Who does the finding?
Who needs to be in a place where they can be found?
Men and women of God... as you are BOTH allowing yourselves to be healed and made whole emotionally, God will most definitely bring you together. You don't have to desire a Boaz who will take care of you financially! Desire an Adam whom you can have dominion with!!! Desire an Adam who can SPEAK WITH AUTHORITY and name a thing and it be so! Desire an Adam who is different from the birds and bears because he knows He has God-given authority. And don't fall and tempt him to sin ladies. Don't be tempted to sin by seeking to feed your pride and emasculate him! Male and female did God create to have dominion...BOTH...but your desire ladies is now for your husband! A queen knows how to rule but she also knows how to respect a king!!
