Memorial Day: Let's Not Forget The Greatest Sacrifice Of All.

Just a reminder..it doesn't matter what we go through ..what comes our way to distrub our peace or set us off course..if we focus on God and the things that is important to Him..truly no weapons formed against us can proper..Refer back to when Abraham was told to go on the mountain and make a sacrifice of His son Isaac..why do you think God did this..after all Abraham had always obeyed God and this time He proved would be no different. Although this was an astounding request because Isaac was the son of promise.

God uses Abraham’s faith as an example to all who came after him as the only means of salvation. Genesis 15:6 says, “Abram believed the LORD, and he credited it to him as righteousness.” This truth is the basis of the Christian faith, as reiterated in Romans 4:3 and James 2:23. The righteousness that was credited to Abraham is the same righteousness credited to us when we receive by faith the sacrifice God provided for our sins—Jesus Christ. “God made him who had no sin to be sin for us, so that in him we might become the righteousness of God” (2 Corinthians 5:21).

The Old Testament story of Abraham is the basis of the New Testament teaching of the atonement, the sacrificial offering of the Lord Jesus on the cross for the sin of mankind.

Now the question is..what are you willing to sacrifice for God today..what would you give up to have the blessings that God has promised you..Abrahan chose to give up the very thing that God Himself had promised Him..this had to be the most hardest thing any Father (including God) himself could have been asked to do..to give up your Son..a child you waited so long to have by your wife. My, My, I see some of you shaking your heads because you won't even sacrifice cigarettes, alcohol, sex, television, your PC, your time or energy! And let's not ask you to give your money.. You don't think you should have to give up anything to have anything that God promised you or otherwise..You want what you want ..when you want and if you are met with a little resistnce trying to receive it..you become quitters..you quit your relationships, your marriages, your jobs, you quit being mothers and fathers, you quit your churches. All because you don't want to sacrifice anything to go to the next level even to just gain understanding.

So, I stopped by on Memorial Day ..a day of remembrance to say..don't forget ..even God himself made sacrifices for both you and me..so while you trying to have it your way ..then back on how Abraham had a ram in the bush provided by God for Him even though He was going to obey God at all costs..He made the sacrifice in His heart so therefore by His act of obedience Isaac life was spared.

God gave His only begotten Son, Jesus The Christ! Here is what the bible says about Jesus being the living sacrifice:

Verily, verily, I say unto you, except a corn of wheat fall into the ground and die, it abideth alone: but if it die, it bringeth forth much fruit.
(John 12:24)

Only through the death of Jesus the "corn of wheat" could the spirits of many be saved.

So today on this Memorial Day as we reflect on those who their lives for their country and for their fellowman..let us not forget the greatest sacrifice of all..God giving His Son, Jesus Christ.
