REJOICE WITH ME!!! THE ELEPHANT IS ALMOST GONE!!!

Romans 12:15 - Rejoice with those who rejoice...

What’s the big celebration?

I'm glad you asked. The celebration is that I have graduated from ministry school. YIPPEEE!!!! The Ministry Training institute is designed for those who desire seminary training but cannot attend school full time. Even though we are not attending class full – time, the training is concentrated and is not for the faint of heart to say the least. Although I have been in ministry for over 15 years, I had never attended seminary or received seminiary style training. This was a desire but I put it off to take care of my young children being that I'm single mom. Home first!!!
When the season was right, I dove into intense training.

The training is divided into 2 diploma programs for those who seek ordination:

PHASE I – Ministry Training (this is what I completed and graduated from on Saturday, Jan 10, 2009)

Ethics in Ministry 1, 2, and 3
Personal Ministry 1 and 2
Ordinances in Ministry
Concepts in Ministry 1
Concepts in Ministry (Business) 2
Ministry Gifts
Theology 1, 2, and 3

Theology was no joke!!! It was INTENSE.

PHASE 2 – Bible Training -- (for me, this is the road to ordination. I will complete this by Jan 2010)

New Testament Survey 1, 2, and 3
Old Testament Survey 1, 2, and 3
Biblical Authority 1, 2, and 3
Work of the Ministry 1, 2, & 3
Homiletics 1, 2, and 3
Ministry Practicum

I will be ordained by Bishop Hazel Hughes.

Along with this training, I’m also enrolled at the College of Biblical Studies earning a B.S. in Biblical Counseling. I know, I know, I must be NUTS to be enrolled in TWO schools.. one for ministry and one for counseling. But this is the path God has me on and it involves weeknights and weekends and sleep… what is sleep? LOL (keep me in your prayers… I need it as I eat the elephant of education one bite at a time.)

What's after all of this... NANC certification. What is NANC? Well go to their website and see for yourself -- http://nanc.org/

What's the expected end? Well let me share my personal statement of faith with you:

I, Tracy Renee' Curtis am...

...a minister who has from youth known the holy scriptures that are able to make me wise unto salvation through faith which is in Christ Jesus;

...a minister who after having obtained faith by hearing God's Word and teaching it and preaching it for many years... also studied the scriptures more diligently to show myself approved unto God, a workman who does not need to be ashamed in any setting; a workman that rightly divides the Word of Truth;

... a minister with confidence in the Word of God and being both sealed and assured by the Spirit of God that I am a woman of God who has become the righteousness of God through faith in Christ Jesus;

... a minister who is thoroughly furnished unto all good works knowing that all scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, and for instruction in righteousness.

As a result of the above, I am fully persuaded and completely dedicated to the work of the ministry through teaching, preaching, evangelizing, prophesying and biblical counseling whenever and wherever God has ordained me to do such.
THIS is my expected end! Glory to God!

REJOICE WITH ME!!! As I have eaten 1/4 of the “elephant” of education and will stay the course until the elephant is devoured!

Romans 12:15 - Rejoice with those who rejoice...
