Save Troy Davis from execution

Let me share this email I received from NAACP President Benjamin T. Jealous today, "Troy Davis is an African American man who has spent the last eight years on death row for a murder he did not commit. There is no physical evidence tying him to the crime and seven out of nine witnesses have recanted. New evidence and new testimony have been presented to the Georgia courts, but the justice system refuses to consider this evidence which would prove Troy Davis' innocence once and for all." Troy Davis has appealed his case twice to the Georgia Supreme Court, twice to the U. S. Court of Appeals, and twice to the U. S. Supreme Court.

Each time, citing procedural grounds, the courts have refused to even consider the clear evidence of innocence and the recanted testimony. When you consider that three of eyewitnesses now claim that their testimony was coerced by the Savannah Georgia Police Department we can say without one doubt this is an Satanic attack upon this brother and his family and ultimately upon all of us who love justice. There is an urgency of the moment due to the fact that Mr. Davis is scheduled for execution next month (July). What can we do? First and most important we need to go to God in prayer for Troy Davis and his immediate family. Troy Davis is living what is written in Psalm 109: 1 - 5, let us all commit this cause to God in prayer. That Brother Davis be delivered from the hands of unscrupulous and deceitful men who are following the leadership of Satan himself. Please share this information with your respective churches because Troy Davis and his family needs our prayers.

We need more strong leaders today now more than ever. You would think with all the evidence at hand that this man would be free and not facing death. My Master degree is in criminal justice and today I wonder why god sent me in that direction. I think it was for the education and knowledge of what I have learned over the last 6 years. The judical system is a joke and if we do not have strong advocates,,,history will keep repeating it self.

Let me know if there is anything I can do. there is a time and season for everything.. however, one must no when to open up and speak,,just as MLK.

excuse the grammar etc.. i type rather fast and all day some time.. This story hit home for many of us and my self.. my brother is spending the rest of his life in jail due to pass laws that need to be changed and unfair sentencing..

I am still praying every day that he comes home one day.
