"Behold, the veil of the temple was rent in twain from the top to the bottom." Matthew 27:51

How important was the renting or tearing of the veil? Important indeed. We say and we sing that we are going behind the veil without a clear understanding of what the veil is and what it means to go behind it. The veil was a thick curtain which boasted four colors; purple, scarlet, white, and blue. A study of the revelation behind these colors would suggest the following; purple represents the majesty of our King for only kings and rulers could wear purple, scarlet represents the blood of the suffering Servant, it represents His sacrificial death through the shedding of His blood, white represents the holiness or the righteousness of God for after Jesus' death, He was wrapped in fine, white linen. The righteousness of God will change your garments from filthy and stained to white as snow. Blue represents Heaven. It represents the revelation of who God is and where He abides. It represents everlasting life through Christ. Now that we have identified the four colors, let us continue to review the details of the veil. The day Jesus was crucified, the veil was torn from top to bottom. This repudiates the fact that man ripped the veil. The veil was torn from the top. God, Himself tore the veil to allow us access to His Throne. It was torn from Heaven to earth thus lifting restrictions and prohibitions. Jesus' sacrificial death gave us instant access to God, the Father. Because of Jesus, you and I can walk into the presence of God anytime and anywhere. Jesus finished the work of the High Priest. He finished the labor of hauling sheep, goats, lambs, and turtledoves to the Temple. Thanks to Jesus, we have become the Temples of the Ark of the Covenant, we are the Temples of the Holy Ghost. Our praises are the lambs and turtledoves now, our giving and our living are the sacrifices now. When we consider the finished work at the Cross, let us always be thankful that the veil has been rent in two, torn in half, from top to bottom, from Heaven to Earth to allow us access to the Holy of Holies. We can boldly enter into the presence of God and bless His name, we can boldly enter therein and offer up sweet sacrifices of praise, we can boldly enter in and lay at His feet because Jesus finished His assignment.Don't ever take for granted again the privilege we have in accessing the Throne. Jesus gave His life that we, through Him, may have eternal life. Hallelujah.
