"Blessed are they which do hunger and thirst after righteousness: for they shall be filled" (Matt. 5:6). You cannot be more filled than you are hungry. The hungrier you are for God, the more satisfaction you stand to enjoy.

More hunger more filling; more hunger more experience; more hunger more of God! So, you see, you are the one who determines how far you go with God. In the natural for instance, it is your container that determines how much water you fetch from the ocean and not the ocean itself. The ocean has no problem of water supply, if you come with a tea spoon you get a teaspoon full of water, if you come with a tanker that is not what you get.

The ocean does not discriminate, it has no favourites, everybody is free to take as much as he desires. In the same way God is no respecter of persons, how hungry you are for Him determines how much He will fill you. So, if you want to keep enjoying the fullness of God; having greater spiritual encounters and experiencing more of His power, what do you do? Never get to a state of satisfaction or complacency in your spiritual walk; keep wanting more of God.

After all the miracles and mighty works that were done through his hand in Egypt, Moses still said, "Lord, show me your glory" (Exodus 33:18). He was hungry for more.

There were 51 sons of the prophet in Elijah’s school of ministry and while 50 of them stood afar off watching, only Elisha followed. He said to Elijah, "…As the LORD liveth, and as thy soul liveth, I will not leave thee" (2 Kings 2:2). He was spiritually keen. And when Elijah saw the way Elisha followed, he turned and said to him, "…Ask what I shall do for thee, before I be taken away from thee" (2 Kings 2:9). Elijah never asked the other 50 that question, he asked only the man that sincerely followed , the man that showed interest. Look, your spiritual zeal can take you far ahead of your colleagues and peers. Please come out of the cold zone! Stop keeping company with cold believers, friends, sisters etc!

Elijah said, "Ask what I shall do for you." And Elisha replied, "Let a double portion of thy spirit be upon me." Only keen followers are entitled to double. And only a truly hungry man will make such a request. He said, "Give me double portion." That is not a prayer you pray anyhow, there has to be a deep hunger in your soul. This is what i pray for you daily, because i know what you have got in your inside and you need a loving push from me(lol).

At the end of the day, it was evident to all that "the spirit of Elijah doth rest on Elisha" (2 Kgs 2:15). He was not denied, his hunger was satisfied! How far your heart goes after God determines how much of Him you encounter. May you never get to a stage in your life where you feel you have enough of God. Now, begin to seek more of Him!
