There are some that believe when people die, they go to one of two places; those that died righteous go to heaven, and the others go to hell. But is that what the bible tells us? Let’s look at God’s Holy word to find the answer.

Let’s do just as we have been instructed, “precept upon precept”, “here a little and there a little”, “line upon line”, “at the mouth of two witnesses, or at the mouth of three witnesses, shall the matter be established.”, “Prove all things; hold fast that which is good”, “Beloved, believe not every spirit, but try the spirits whether they are of God”, and finally, “All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness.”

Now let’s go to work;

Eccl.9
[2] All things come alike to all: there is one event to the righteous, and to the wicked; to the good and to the clean, and to the unclean; to him that sacrificeth, and to him that sacrificeth not: as is the good, so is the sinner; and he that sweareth, as he that feareth an oath.

Wow! Whatever event Solomon is talking about, it is NOT a respecter of persons. It touches the righteous AND the wicked.

[3] This is an evil among all things that are done under the sun, that there is one event unto all: yea, also the heart of the sons of men is full of evil, and madness is in their heart while they live, and after that they go to the dead.

So the event is Death! It happens to us ALL!

[5] For the living know that they shall die: but the dead know not any thing, neither have they any more a reward; for the memory of them is forgotten.
[6] Also their love, and their hatred, and their envy, is now perished; neither have they any more a portion for ever in any thing that is done under the sun.
[7] Go thy way, eat thy bread with joy, and drink thy wine with a merry heart; for God now accepteth thy works.
[8] Let thy garments be always white; and let thy head lack no ointment.
[9] Live joyfully with the wife whom thou lovest all the days of the life of thy vanity, which he hath given thee under the sun, all the days of thy vanity: for that is thy portion in this life, and in thy labour which thou takest under the sun.
[10] Whatsoever thy hand findeth to do, do it with thy might; for there is no work, nor device, nor knowledge, nor wisdom, in the grave, whither thou goest.

King Solomon could not be more clear in what he was telling us.

There is ONE event that come to ALL. Whether you are good, or bad it will happen to everybody.
This event is DEATH!
Once you are dead you know nothing, you feel nothing and you no longer have any business with things done by the living.
Eat, drink and be merry! The time to do the works God will accept is NOW! While you are alive.
Stay ready for we know not the time nor hour.
Love thy wife and live life to the fullest. Whatever you have to do, do it NOW!!!
Because once you are dead, there is no more work that can be done. There is no wisdom nor knowledge in the grave where you go.

That's pretty simple. When you are dead you are dead!

Now let’s read what man is compared to;

Isa.31
[3] Now the Egyptians are men, and not God; and their horses flesh, and not spirit. When the LORD shall stretch out his hand, both he that helpeth shall fall, and he that is holpen shall fall down, and they all shall fail together.

So both man AND beast are flesh. Neither are Spirit! And that goes for EVERY LIVING CREATURE! Let's read it;

Gen.6
[17] And, behold, I, even I, do bring a flood of waters upon the earth, to destroy all flesh, wherein is the breath of life, from under heaven; and every thing that is in the earth shall die.

Did you catch that? God destroyed all Flesh that had what? The breath of life! That is the ONLY thing God put in man when He made him.

“And the LORD God formed man of the dust of the ground, and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life; and man became a living soul.”

The “breath of life” is what was put into man, and when man dies that same breath is taken away…..that’s it! There is no soul or spirit that floats off to heaven somewhere.

Let’s read what Job had to say about it;

Job 9
[18] He will not suffer me to take my breath, but filleth me with bitterness.

Above Job is saying God will not kill him, by taking away his breath.

Job 27
[3] All the while my breath is in me, and the spirit of God is in my nostrils;

Here Job calls the breath within, “the spirit of God”

Now let’s look at what God calls “spirit”

1 Cor.15
[39] All flesh is not the same flesh: but there is one kind of flesh of men, another flesh of beasts, another of fishes, and another of birds.

But are flesh bodies Spirit? Let's read...;

[42] So also is the resurrection of the dead. It is sown in corruption; it is raised in incorruption:

So the raised dead will have an incorruptible body, meaning one that will not die. Let's read more;

[44] It is sown a natural body; it is raised a spiritual body. There is a natural body, and there is a spiritual body.

So no one gets their spirit bodies until they come OUT of the grave. Let's read more;

[48] As is the earthy, such are they also that are earthy: and as is the heavenly, such are they also that are heavenly.
[49] And as we have borne the image of the earthy, we shall also bear the image of the heavenly.

So again, we do NOT get a spirit body until AFTER we are raised. Here is more;

[52] In a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trump: for the trumpet shall sound, and the dead shall be raised incorruptible, and we shall be changed.
[53] For this corruptible must put on incorruption, and this mortal must put on immortality.

Now let’s read if ANY of the saints that died with a “good report” received the promises. Don’t forget now, a spirit body does NOT see corruption, it is “perfect”. Now let’s read;

Heb.11
[4] By faith Abel offered unto God a more excellent sacrifice than Cain
[5] By faith Enoch was translated that he should not see death (Remember THIS one!)
[7] By faith Noah, being warned of God of things not seen as yet, moved with fear
[8] By faith Abraham, when he was called to go out into a place which he should after receive for an inheritance
[11] Through faith also Sara herself received strength to conceive seed
[23] By faith Moses, when he was born, was hid three months of his parents
[31] By faith the harlot Rahab perished not with them that believed not
[32] And what shall I more say? for the time would fail me to tell of Gedeon, and of Barak, and of Samson, and of Jephthae; of David also, and Samuel, and of the prophets:
[39] And these all, having obtained a good report through faith, received not the promise:

Paul says ALL of these saints died with a good report, but NONE of them received the promise….NOT EVEN ENOCH! So did they receive their spirit bodies yet? Have they been made perfect? Let’s read;

[40] God having provided some better thing for us, that they without us should not be made perfect.
So NONE of these saints have been given the promise, NOR have they been given their spirit bodies. When will they receive it?

[52] In a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trump: for the trumpet shall sound, and the dead shall be raised incorruptible, and we shall be changed.
[53] For this corruptible must put on incorruption, and this mortal must put on immortality.

Now let's review:

- The dead have no emotions. Eccl.9:6
- The dead cannot comprehend. Eccl.9:10
- Man AND ALL living things are flesh. Isa.31:3 and Gen.6:17
- Flesh and spirit are NOT the same. 1 Cor.15:42
- None of the righteous that died with a good report have been made perfect, not
even Enoch. Heb.11:4-40
- We WILL NOT be spirit until AFTER leaving the grave. 1 Cor.15:44,
48, 49, 52 and 53.

There has only been ONE that has received His spirit body after being dead;

Col.1
[15] Who is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn of every creature:
[18] And he is the head of the body, the church: who is the beginning, the firstborn from the dead; that in all things he might have the preeminence.

Jesus is just that, THE FIRSTBORN FROM THE DEAD!

And for those that believe Lazarus is with Abraham, just go back and read above to see if Abraham was one of those saints named that died with a "good report" and that will tell you where Lazarus is.

Your doctrine is in serious err/error,please read the bible for your self.when a beliver dies there soul goes to be with the Lord.. the bible says absent from the body ,present with the lord. Unbelivers are just dead unto the great white throne judgement. then and only then will they torment in hell.[burn in the lake of fire and brimestone] The bible story of lazarus and the rich man. The rich man went to sheol, He was in torment , but not burning in the lake of fire and brimestone. a different judgement
His doctrine is exactly right in line with the scriptures. The only place you can make yourselves go to Heaven is in 1Thesalonians chapter 4, and just like the commandments we can show you all over the Bible where the Lord said he is bring his kingdom on earth in Jerusalem.
Yes the New Jerusalem will be here on earth. When christ returns he will reign fo ra thousand years. Also you cannot make yourself go to heaven. That is no where in scripture,law, comandments,bible ot torah. you must accept Chrsit Jesus as Lord and Saviour.
Christ is going to rein 1000 years before the Father brings his kingdom down, so you Heaven argument is void. Just admit at least to yourself that you have been lied to.
Sad, but true Bro.Watson . . . .

*sigh*
You are warm, and not hot because one minute you say that you understand that we need to keep the commandments, then you are back to the idolatry. Repent, and be Baptized in the name of Jesus for the remission of sins past, and keep his commandments.
@ Brother Watson

You will eat those words. I guarantee it, if you don't repent, and start to keep Jesus' commandments.
We will see. You can't prove Christmas, You can't prove Easter in the Bible. You can't prove Good Friday, You can't prove we are not to keep the commandments. You can't Prove we are going to heaven, you can't prove the 7 year tribulation, or the rapture, and you teach and believe all these things. What can you prove from the Bible?
Anthony,

HAHAAH how can one swim up what is not literal?
You do know there are (3) heavens mentioned in the bible, right? Well, ONE of those is our atmosphere. When we meet the lord in the clouds, we would have asscended to the 2nd heaven, thus, those that are changed and return are mentioned below;

[14] And the armies which were in heaven followed him upon white horses, clothed in fine linen, white and clean.

Not only will Jesus return with His newly changed saints, but He will also return with His "Angels". Now they will be coming with Jesus from the 3rd heaven, God dwelling place.

Can you see how easy that was and how it makes sense?
RIGHT!!!!

This Brother is a hearer, and a doer of the Word.
