What's really the problem?  Is that the standards single men and women have set are too high and unrealistic or is that there are fewer and fewer available and qualified single men and women out there?

That is a good question! I believe there maybe some standards that are too high for single men and women but God is able to balance them out if we allow Him to do so. Also, there are few that are available and qualified. So many do not want to do it the way the Lord say do it. Too many want to do as the world does when it comes to getting together. We need to have a standard when you want someone that wants to treat you like the world instead of waiting for God to send the person that you need. A real man or woman of God is not going to deter from what the word says to do. for instance, Paul said it is not good for a man to touch a woman. Too many want to touch the woman wheter they want it or not. Then Paul said if you can not contain then you need to marry instead of burning in that desire. Some want to burn in the desire like the world instead of doing what God has instructed. That's my take on it. I want everything God has for me but I want it according to the word of God.
Yes, Sistah! You're on point!!!!! Too often, we allow folks to set the standard in our lives when God has called us to raise a standard higher than that of the world. So, you are correct, we do not need to settle for less just to have a girlfriend/boyfriend on our arm. We need keep our standards reasonable and not allow others to treat us a used cars (with the option to rent, lease, or test drive)!
Well, blessed God for that. Too many are being treated like used cars and instead of top of the line. God has called us to the top of the line! We must see ourselves as that too. Be blessed.
Bro. Jones, I do believe it is a lack of available saved men and women who are truly filled with the Spirit of God.....it can be tough, But being single in the Lord in Awesome!
AMEN Sistah! I agree that the we find too many Chrisitans and non-believers living below the standard that God has set. Well said my friend.
Thank you for the cosign, and thank you for posting here at Singles International!

When speaking about qualifications in a possible significant other...are we speaking in reference to accomplishments and both in the natural and spirit? I pose this question because there are many that have one without the other...Spiritual working on making accomplishments, accomplishments lacking spiritual substance, and some with the balance of both. However, Which would make one qualified???? Having an abundance spiritually lacking naturalistic accomplishments or one who is accomplished (they are involved in the ministry of course) but no substance? (the last reference plainly goes without saying!!!) I'm just wondering....
Interesting....clearly, your assessment and analogies point to the shallowness many of us approach relationships with...We concentrate on the looks and visible assets. Yet, looks can be deceiving. You are so correct, in that, it's the spiritual foundation and richness that makes for a more stable and sure relationship. If you and God are tight, chances are our relationship will last a whole lot longer and weather the storms that every relationship encounters. So, I guess I should change my question to, "What are we really looking for in a mate?". Good points, sistah! I'll be glad when the brothers start responding to this question....I'm growing tired of being the only male voice represented, LOL!!!!
Amen!!! Im just sayin! This was a good topic God bless you for this in Jesus name!!
