The Law & The Prophets taught against "once saved always saved"

Scriptural references are as follows:

Duet 30:15-20,"See, I have set before you today life and good, death and evil. If you obey the commandments of the Lord your God that I command you today, by loving the Lord your God, by walking in his ways, and by keeping his commandments and his statutes and his rules, then you shall live and multiply, and the Lord your God will bless you in the land that you are entering to take possession of it. But if your heart turns away, and you will not hear, but are drawn away to worship other gods and serve them, I declare to you today, that you shall surely perish. You shall not live long in the land that you are going over the Jordan to enter and possess. I call heaven and earth to witness against you today, that I have set before you life and death, blessing and curse. Therefore choose life, that you and your offspring may live, loving the Lord your God, obeying his voice and holding fast to him, for he is your life and length of days, that you may dwell in the land that the Lord swore to your fathers, to Abraham, to Isaac, and to Jacob, to give them.”

Ezekiel 18:24,"But when a righteous person turns away from his righteousness and does injustice and does the same abominations that the wicked person does, shall he live? None of the righteous deeds that he has done shall be remembered; for the treachery of which he is guilty and the sin he has committed, for them he shall die."

These scriptures, among many from the Law & The Prophets are the foundations of Jesus' teachings concerning this topic.

But Ms. Johnson Judas was never as we would say "saved" Jesus himself said " Have not I chosen you twelve, and one of you is a devil?" speaking of Judas. He know the hearts of people therefore while we struggle wondering if people are saved, the Lord knows those that are His. And once again I'll say it and try my best not to respond becasue I already know what's comming but eternal life aint eternal life if it can be lost.
Rev,

If eternal life is a gift given to us, then that gift can be given back. It does NOT change its status as "the gift of eternal life". It would just be a gift of eternal life that you did not take. For example, before you were saved, Jesus offered you this gift of eternal life. It did not become this gift when you came to faith, rather, it was always that gift.
Basiclly what your saying is tantamount to calling Christ an "Indian giver" which by definition says-A person who demands the return of or takes back something which he or she has previously given

And as you and I both know we can go on for days about this very subject because we have in the past. So I'll say I understand your veiw point I dont agree but that is find but at least I do have an understanding. Good thing is if you trust that you have salvation, and I trust that I have salvation and nethier one of us plan on turning back than I'll see you in glory!
Rev,

I never said anything about Jesus demanding it back. The scriptures say if you disown him, he will disown you. This flows with Torah teachings about man's choice to either choose God, or disregard him. Amen, as long as we remain obedient to God to the end, then we will be good!
The Prophets new nothing about the ideal of eternal security. They knew about God's Book's, but they knew nothing about the eternal security that the Body of Christ during this dispensation enjoys to this day. According to Ephesians 3:1-6 especially verse 5"Which in other ages WAS NOT MADE KNOWNunto the sons of men, as it is NOW revealed unto his holy apostles and prophets by the Spirit"
Garland,

Sure they had, especially when they prophesy of the new world, and dwelling in the house of the Lord forever. The whole point is that man has a choice to either stay saved, or walk away.
No, my friend read the Scripture for what it says. They knew about Heaven and Hell but they did not have an understanding of the Eternal Security of one who belongs to the Body of Christ(Church) . Israel's Challenge was to Keep the (Law or Promise) the Church's challenge is to Believe in God's Gracious Provision(Jesus the Christ). Ephesians 3: cannot be ignored they(old test. Prophets) literally did not know it and were still searching for it(whatever God was inspiring them to write) and even Hebrews 11 " ends by saying that they did not receive the promise. Just think about the amount of New Testament space God devoted to letting us know that we are eternally saved and secure. "Roman's" the Gospel Explained espec. Chapters 3-5, Galatians(Law which no man can be saved by) Vs. Grace.
Garland,

You may have a point about "eternal security", but eternal LIFE, the prophets already knew of that.
I agree about the eternal life. God's servants knew about spending the rest of their life in the presence of God and/or their eternal sufferings in hell.
Neither JESUS or His holy Apostles or Prophets taught a salvation that you cannot loose/forfeit.
Trevor,

They taught choice. Man has the choice of either giving up his inheritance, or keeping it.
Amen, Mr. Pierce! JESUS showed with the fig tree that a saint can loose his salvation. Psalms 1 declares us "to be like a tree planted by the rivers of water that brings forth its fruit in its season". If a saint refuses to bring forth the fruit of the Spirit, then JESUS Himself will curse them like the fig tree. He showed that HE would do so also in other parables.
