Is The Trinity Biblical?
From the Christian Research Institute
www.equip.org
The Trinity is a basic doctrine of orthodox Christianity. Yet the word "Trinity" is not found anywhere in the Bible. Is the doctrine of the Trinity really biblical?
The doctrine of the Trinity says that there is one All Mighty One (God) who exists eternally as three distinct persons, the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit. I can assure you that the elements of this doctrine are all taken directly from the Bible.
The first plank of the Trinitarian platform is that there is only one All Mighty One (God). The Bible could not be more explicit on this point, which it states explicitly about two dozen times. In Isaiah 44:8 Yahweh (The LORD) says that even He does not know of any other (mighty ones)gods!
Yahshua (Jesus) often spoke of the All Mighty One (God) as His Father, and the apostles frequently spoke of "the Almighty One (God) the Father." But the New Testament also insists that Yahshua (Jesus) is The Almighty One (God). For example, Thomas acknowledged Yahshua (Jesus) as, "My Lord(master) and my Almighty One (God)" (John 20:28), and both Peter and Paul spoke of Yahshua (Jesus) as "our All Mighty One (God) and Savior" (2 Pet. 1:1; Tit. 2:13). Yet the New Testament also makes the distinction between the Father and the Son as two very different persons. In fact they tell us that they love one another, speak to each other, and seek to glorify each other (e.g., John 17: 1-26).
The Old Testament refers often to the Holy Spirit as The Almighty One (God) at work in the world, without distinction from the Father. But Yahshua (Jesus) in John 14 to 16 explained that this Holy Spirit would be sent by the Father at the Messiah’s (Christ's) request. The Holy Spirit would teach and guide the disciples, not speaking on His own initiative, but speaking on the Messiah’s 9Christ's) behalf and glorifying The messiah (Christ). Thus, the Holy Spirit is revealed by The Messiah (Christ) to be a third person distinct from the Father and distinct from the Son.
In short, the doctrine of the Trinity is completely and totally biblical, and it is essential that all the Followers of the Messiah Yahshua (Christians) give assent to this doctrine.

Trevor,

Where did the Apostles, other than Jude, quote Enoch?
AMEN JAMES!
FINALLY, someone with intelligence enough to not know but ask where to find out! Allow me to show you, youngsta. I stumbled onto this site quoting Enoch's scriptures and comparing them to NT text. It will shed some light on the subject:

Enoch lxiv 4
And a voice was heard from heaven.
(this compares to...)
Matthew 3:17
And lo, a voice from heaven, saying.

Enoch vi 9

The elect shall possess light, joy, and peace, and they shall inherit the earth.
(this compares to....)
Matthew 5:5
Blessed are the meek, for they shall inherit the earth.

Enoch x 15,16
To Michael also, the Lord said, Go and announce his crime to Samyaza and to the others who are with him who have been associated with women ... Bind them for seventy generations under the earth, even to the day of judgment, and of consummation, until the judgment, which shall last forever, be completed. Then shall they be taken away into the lowest depths of the fire in torments, and in confinement shall they be shut up forever.
(this compares to.....)
Jude 6
The angels which kept not their first estate, but left their own habitation, he hath reserved in everlasting chains under darkness, unto the judgment of the great day.

2 Peter 2:4

God spared not the angels when they sinned, but cast them down to hell, and committed them to pits of darkness, to be reserved unto judgment.

Revelations 20:10

The devil that deceived them was cast into the lake of fire and brimstone ... and shall be tormented day and night forever.

There are far more scriptures both from OT Prophets and NT Apostles. We regard Job as the oldest book, but thats impossible. Job lived during the days of Abraham and we have reason to suspect that they were related. Enoch lived before the flood of Noah. It Enoch to first see the visions of the 3rd thru 7th Heavens, not Apostle Paul. It was Enoch to speak of the end times and the coming Messiah first, not Daniel, Isaiah, Zechariah, or the OT Prophets. We say that Moses was the one that saw the most, but truly it was Enoch that was the model for Moses. GOD used Moses to restore such vision and intimacy to the children of Israel because they were so long away from the GOD of their fathers Abraham Isaac and Israel/Jacob.
James They are going by the Roman catholic books from Constantine. The Books were taken out because they were considered NOT INSPIRED OF GOD. GEE I WONDER WHY? PERHAPS THE TRINITY WAS MAN-MADE!IT WAS WRITTEN BY CONSTANTINE!

Google search: The Lost Books of the Bible

The Church View:
In the Catholic Church the version used is the Douay-Rheims Bible consisting of 73 books. In the Protestant church only the 66 books approved by the Archbishop of Canterbury in 1885, which today is known as the Authorized King James Bible, are used. No other books, neither the Apocrypha, which was included in the original King James Bible, nor the 22 books mentioned or quoted in the King James Bible, are considered inspired.

The Bible View:
There was no specific list or accounting of all the books that made up the Bible until the commission of the first Bible by the Emperor Constantine in the 4th Century AD. The books that make up the Authorized King James Bible were chosen by men, not divine forces. The language of the King James Bible is obscure and limited.(From The Catholics Point of View!)
THE DEVIL ALWAYS HAS A COUNTERFEIT
Forbidden Not Lost

Constantine began what was to become a centuries long effort to eliminate any book in the original Bible that was considered unacceptable to the new doctrine of the church(THE CATHOLIC CHURCH THAT IS). At that time, it is believed there were up to 600 books, which comprised the work we now know as the Bible. Through a series of decisions made by the early church leadership, all but 80 of those books, known as the King James Translation of 1611, were purged from the work, with a further reduction by the Protestant Reformation bringing the number to 66 in the "Authorized" King James Bible. But as you can see The Bible that was ORIGINAL Constantine tried to ADD to it To help everyone Be a catholic.
Amen Anthony.

Yes please Della, if would be great, if you could try and post information that is half sensible, the posts you are bringing read like the ramblings of half sane conspiratists.
SORRY TREVOR I Don't Want to know About ANOTHER BOOK WRITTEN BY A MAN THAT WAS PAGANISTIC!
I am Sure James doesn't want to learn about 3 Gods or Persons in a trinity.
My bible tells me this:
Galatians 1:6-9 (King James Version)

6I marvel that ye are so soon removed from him that called you into the grace of Christ unto another gospel:

7Which is not another; but there be some that trouble you, and would pervert the gospel of Christ.

8But though we, or an angel from heaven, preach any other gospel unto you than that which we have preached unto you, let him be accursed.

9As we said before, so say I now again, if any man preach any other gospel unto you than that ye have received, let him be accursed.

TALK TO YOU LATER MAYBE? BYE.............
BRO ELON I TOTAL AGREE AND THE BIBLE GOD HOLY WORD BACKS UP EVERY THING THAT YOU ARE SAYING AND IF A PERSDON WANT TO ARGUE AGAINT THE BIBLE THEN THEY ARE NOT WORTH TAKING TO GOD SAID THEN THAT ENOUGH . TO ALL OF THE UNBELIVERS YOU CANT HAVE ONE WITH OUT THE OTHER THE TRINITY IS COMPLETELY AND TOTALLY BIBLICAL ANY THING ELSE IS HOG WASH.
Pastor Bell, Amen!!

Bro. Watson, AMEN!!

Della, your ignorance to this subject is embarrassing to this debate:

-You knock the Bibles Canon but quote from the KJV;
-you don't know a lick of Church history and want to take jabs at it
-you cut and paste and don't even know what you're cutting and pasting from or who you're quoting

The only company that remotely agrees with anything that you as a Oneness or even as a personal believer believes are JEHOVAH's Witnesses, who can't read a drop of Greek or Hebrew and made their own Bible! The Greek Orthodox have their own Canon of scripture (which I lean more towards at times) and STILL believe in the Holy Trinity!

What were the edited books if you know Church history, and why were they edited? (This I can talk all week on because that is one of my hobbies!)
Thank you sir. It actually DOES remind me of when JW's com to my door! I've invited them in and spoken with them on this matter also. Its interesting to note that my door is now notorious on their map! LOL I love their Evangelistic tactics, however their doctrine is off. Likewise, Oneness are great people and have alot to offer, but like JW's, they have a zeal without knowledge.

Zeal is a great fuel, but fuel should never be in the driver's seat.
Thank you! I am actually learning alot about myself in this. I stay within these debates to not only stretch myself, but to stand up against foolishness. My real fight as an Apostle (elect) is to defend the faith. The U.S. Military have a quote:

"I, _____, do solemnly swear (or affirm) that I will support and defend the Constitution of the United States against all enemies, foreign and domestic; that I will bear true faith and allegiance to the same; and that I will obey the orders of the President of the United States and the orders of the officers appointed over me, according to regulations and the Uniform Code of Military Justice. So help me God."

I am going to add this to the Apostolic Affirmation/Ordination of the ministers of my ministry, because we are to defend against the enemy no matter where he manifests, be it foreign (Islam, Buddhists, Atheists, ect), or domestic (homosexual ministers, Oneness doctrine, JW's, ect). If all ministers actually took that to heart, we wouldn't have half the enemies we have running into our Churches.
We are at war not against flesh and blood but against principalities and powers. Don't let the term attack fool you into thinking its a too harsh action to take. Far too often I have heard men and women steer away from aggressive evangelism and assertive defense of Biblical doctrine. If I do attack, its a false doctrine blatantly placed before me; its demonic activity and territories. There is a certain method of attacking. I'm not trained to attack people, nor am I training men and women to attack people.

Besides, I used the word "Defend", nor attack. My attacks are mainly for the defense of the Gospel of the Kingdom of GOD, and the territory of the Kingdom of Heaven.
