The translation of Dr. C.A.W. Clark yesterday is good news for him, but a sober reminder to us all! So many in my generation have never heard of him. I'm in Birmingham Alabama, when I moved here 8 years ago, I was startled to learn that many of my local peers had never heard of Dr. Nelson Smith, another preaching legend and local pastor.

I realize that we didn't come here to stay, and that most of us will be vanishing vapors on the pages of history. However, I am concerned about the dying legacy that's being buried sooner than the legends that carried them out. These Christ centered proclaimers for decades, leave a world that unabashedly ignores the name of Jesus in its preaching.

While we are not called to guarantee that Caeser Clark's name is remembered, we are obligated to make certain that the legacy of gospel preaching is maintained. Jesus said, "do this in remembrance of me."
