Romans 1:21-25: "Because that, when they knew God, they glorified him not as God, neither were thankful; but became vain in their imaginations, and their foolish heart was darkened. Professing themselves to be wise, they became fools, And changed the glory of the uncorruptible God into an image made like to corruptible man, and to birds, and fourfooted beasts, and creeping things. Wherefore God also gave them up to uncleanness through the lusts of their own hearts, to dishonour their own bodies between themselves: Who changed the truth of God into a lie, and worshipped and served the creature more than the Creator, who is blessed for ever. Amen."

Why do people create a feel-good God for themselves? Well, it's because they want their selfish desires. Yes, there are people who claim to be saved, loving the Lord, and go to church, yet say that they have their own beliefs. They'll think that God is wrong because He doesn't match up to their beliefs and livestyles, especially concerning homosexuality, abortion, and qualifications for entering heaven. Also, they'll think that God Almighty is taking away their happiness because He's putting boundaries on lifestyle and enjoyment of life. The issue is that people are finding happiness in the wrong places.

It's very sad that there are those who be in church who claim to be Christians, but are selfish hedonists. That's the reason why they are creating a feel-good and politically correct God. The excuse for not following God's word is that this is not the biblical times and the bible is so-called "played out". Just because the bible has "Amen" on the end of Revelation doesn't mean it's played out. The Bible doesn't change. That's why folks get upset about the Bible denouncing the chasing after strange flesh. So sad that preachers on the pulpit preach feel-good sermons, especially on thinking positive thoughts, to prevent offenses and increase church membership. also, there are those who practice Cafeteria Christianity because they don't like certain scriptures telling them how to live. Cafeteria Christianity is not true Christianity. Either Jesus Christ is the Lord of All or he's not the Lord at all. You can't pick and choose which scriptures to discard and which scriptures to follow.

To create a feel-good and politically correct god for yourself is idolatry. Exodus 20:5 states that the Lord our God is a Jealous God, which means that it is an insult to God to put anything above Him. What the Lord meant when he said that he's a Jealous God is that He can give you and do anything that nobody and nothing can do and give. That's why it's time for you to stop finding love, purpose, healing, satisfaction, and happiness in the wrong places. Remember that drugs, booze, sex, Joker Joe, Silly Suzie, food, porno, and other things can't satisfy you for the long term. They lead to destruction of your soul. Don't let the enjoyment of your life write the checks that your soul cannot cash.

To those who would reject the bible as the living word of God and create a feel-good God to fulfill your selfish needs, you can't be a Christian and a selfish hedonist at the same time. Living in sin does not give you freedom and excitement that lasts forever. It puts you into slavery. To find true freedom, you have to be a Christian Hedonist, meaning that you find true and lasting pleasure in worshipping God and walking in His will. If you seek after righteousness, you shall be full. So, to you who claim to be Christians, yet practice selfish hedonism, cut it out, repent, and ask Jesus to free you from bondage and forgive you of your sins.

I hope this message is a blessing to you. If you enjoy this, give me an amen.

By the way, let's tune up the song "I know the Bible is Right and Somebody's Wrong!!".

People have been making a feel good God for centuries. This feel good God is not a God of morals, rather, a God of "do what pleases your flesh." If one is not walking in the ways of Yah(His Torah), then thats what you have... a feel good God.
James - I guess you said it better than I did :-)
Hows you day going?
Newview,

Great... just operating my businesses from home... How's your day going?
Fine - thanks.
What kind of business? Psst...only respond if its legal.
Newview,

If its legal? That should not have come out of your mouth. Thoughts of negativity(shaking my head).
It was a joke. Come on.
What do you do?
The reason this is happening is for two reasons:

1. You have some in the church who have created this heresy by the life they live.

2. The world sees the church doing it and then they feel that if they go to church and they do it then I can too and yet be a Christian.

The term "Christian" is so overly used it is sad.
Some who club say, "I'm a Christian."
Some who smoke and drink say, "I'm a Christian."
Some who lie, cheat and steal say, "I'm a Christian."
Some who fornicate say, "I'm a Christian."
Some who murder say, "I'm a Christian."
Some who shacking up say, "I'm a Christian."

To be a Christian you are being "Christ-like", am I right?
You can't be "Christ-like" and living a holy, righteous and upright life however the reason why those on the inside AND the outside of the church feel they are Christians (despite the sin they commit) is because of what they see IN the church.
WHERE IS THE STANDARD IN THE CHURCH?!
When I was growing up and the pastor realized you were doing something you had no business you were sat down until you got yourself together- for however long that took. If you were bold about it you got openly rebuked.
However, today?
It's 'Do as you want to do long as it don't bother me."
You can't preach to me about living holy when I know the minister sitting right next to you, who you laugh and joke with, who you allow to preach every other Sunday night and you hear speaking in some tongues is sleeping with the deacon's daughter when his wife not home.
You can't preach to me about living holy and I see every week at the club poppin' bottles!!!
You can't preach to me about living holy and I hear you cussin' like a sailor!!!
You can't preach to me about living holy and you can't even treat your neighbor right.

The church OR RATHER SOME IN THE CHURCH have a habit of wanting to point a finger and not see the mess we have going on in OUR homes (churches).
Ezekiel Chapter 8 is a great example of what is going on in the church today!!!

Let's get the foundation laid AGAIN and build from the foundation that has been set.
Great thread. I hope we can discuss more.
