Does it seem to you that some books of the Bible are rarely or never preached in our churches? There are a handful of scriptures that preachers continually return to, while others are rarely, if ever, utilized in sermons.

Can you think of any Bible books or passages that you have never heard preached?

I think I have heard every book hit on.
But I will say - a chunk of the book of Numbers is passed by because there are so many mearsurements and numbers. Its sort of hard to get a lively sermon out of that.
Only Ravi Zacharias spoke on Numbers and it hit home. It was beautiful and enlightening.
I
There's little that Ravi says that isn't beautiful and enlightening. The radio program "Let My People Think" is required listening.

If I do consider teaching on Christian radio, then I must admit I've heard many more books at least touched on. But I was thinking of messages I had heard preached in-person.
I have yet to hear someone preach from Joel, Obadiah, Micah, Lamentations, Nahum, Zechariah and Zephaniah.
i am very sorry people "The House of Jacob"/"Israel of God"/"church of Israel",teaches from gen to rev (sound doctrine)
it is funnie sista harris these books are all about israel being gathered and well useless to you, sence you don't need to know who they are -- Joel, Obadiah, Micah, Lamentations, Nahum, Zechariah and Zephaniah.
No book in the Bible is useless, if it were so, it wouldn't be there.
Chaplain,

The Torah is useless to you because you do not live by it like the very man you claim to believe in.. YAHUSHUA!
I have within the last two years heard a wonderful message from the 5th chapter, but otherwise I agree: there are sometimes messages preached about the seven churches of Asia Minor, but most other sections of the book are ignored. The same with the last six chapters of Daniel (covering similar prophetic ground).

brutha watson, we teach in daniel // extremely nessesary teaching// 70 weeks of daniel
dan.9: 25Know therefore and understand, that from the going forth of the commandment to restore and to build Jerusalem unto the Messiah the Prince shall be seven weeks, and threescore and two weeks: the street shall be built again, and the wall, even in troublous times.

26And after threescore and two weeks shall Messiah be cut off, but not for himself: and the people of the prince that shall come shall destroy the city and the sanctuary; and the end thereof shall be with a flood, and unto the end of the war desolations are determined.

27And he shall confirm the covenant with many for one week: and in the midst of the week he shall cause the sacrifice and the oblation to cease, and for the overspreading of abominations he shall make it desolate, even until the consummation, and that determined shall be poured upon the desolate.

this is prophecy of about jesus and what law he would cause to cease "sacrifice and oblations"
Everywhere you go, there's a Torah over here, there's a Torah over there, here a Torah, there a Torah, everywhere a Torah, Torah . . . . . .
We do not worship the Torah. We worship the GOD of Israel. We follow the teachings of the Torah, and the rest of the Bible as well. The difference is, Israel teaches the scriptures by title and subject, Line upon line Precept upon Precept. You have to get the understanding on your own as you read. You all bring up 1 verse and interpret the verse in what you think it means. Not trying to be mean.. Don't yell at me.
