Hip Hop in the Church

I now understand more and more about this so-call world of "Hip-Hop". I understand now why "Hip-Hop"has really no place in our churches and yet it's slowly creeping in our church doors. After hearing all of this, I will stand behind fellow clergy members by NOT allowing "Hip-Hop" into our churches.

Pastors,Ministers and Church Leaders, would you allow "Hip-Hop" in your churches? Is this a way in keeping our youth in church? I am interested in all feedback concerning this issue.

    The test of the authenticity of a rhema from God is how it compares to the whole of Scripture. Orthodoxy says that God will not speak a word that contradicts His written Word, the Scriptures, so there is a built-in safeguard to prevent misinterpretation. The obvious danger is that one who is not familiar with the logos can misinterpret or misunderstand what he or she perceives to be a rhema.

     Don't hate because you are unable to bring any fresh revelation to your preaching and or teaching and because of that you will never be able to take the gospel to the nations.  Your preaching and teaching is limited to a literal account of biblical history without understanding that God is now.

     I preach and teach under the anointing with power.  When you minister it is hard for people to keep from falling asleep.  The greatest preacher, Jesus taught in parables in order to keep people interested in the word.  He taught a rhema word.

    You need to question your anointing and or call to ministry if you are unable to get a rhema word from God for yourself. 

    You fail to realize that your shelf full of books (idols) are written by other men who probably claim to be theologians and professors of the law.  They most probably deny the power of the Holy Spirit.

     Understand that reference books are to be used in study, but remember that they are fallible and written by men who most probably do not have a connection with the Holy Spirit.  They are not the authority.  When you cannot look into the logos and receive a rhema word for yourself without going to other men you really don't have an anointing and or the Holy Spirit. 

     Rev you probably don't operate in the gifts of the Holy Spirit either.  Do you know what a "word of wisdom/knowledge" is or operate with any prophetic anointing?   

      Isaiah 48:1, "Hear ye this, O house of Jacob, which are called by the name of Israel, and are come forth out of the waters of Judah, which swear by the name of the LORD, and make mention of the God of Israel, [but] not in truth, nor in righteousness."

     Isaiah 48:2, "For they call themselves of the holy city, and stay themselves upon the God of Israel; The LORD of hosts [is] his name."     

     Isaiah 48:3, "I have declared the former things from the beginning; and they went forth out of my mouth, and I shewed them; I did [them] suddenly, and they came to pass."

     Isaiah 48:4, "Because I knew that thou [art] obstinate, and thy neck [is] an iron sinew, and thy brow brass;" (Rev Dinosaur - meaning relic, has-been).

     Isaiah 48:5, "I have even from the beginning declared [it] to thee; before it came to pass I shewed [it] thee: lest thou shouldest say, Mine idol hath done them, and my graven image, and my molten image, hath commanded them."

     Isaiah 48:6, "Thou hast heard, see all this; and will not ye declare [it]? I have shewed thee new things from this time, (Christian rap) even hidden things, and thou didst not know them."

     Isaiah 48:7, "They are created now, and not from the beginning; even before the day when thou heardest them not; lest thou shouldest say, Behold, I knew them."

     Acts 4:13, "Now when they saw the boldness of Peter and John, and perceived that they were unlearned and ignorant men, they marvelled; and they took knowledge of them, that they had been with Jesus."

     You can take knowledge (learn) from anyone that has been with Jesus.  This is where you fail.

     The question that you continue to circumvent is whether or not you operate with the gifts of the Holy Spirit and the anointing of God?

     My seminary training is from International Seminary, Plymouth Florida.  However I do not put seminary training above the anointing of the Holy Spirit.  There are things that you cannot learn until you have been through the fire and recogonize that you have been with Jesus. 

     Study to show yourself approved, but when you don't operate and deny the power of the Holy Spirit you are as sounding brass and tinkling cymbals.  I have yet to hear you acknowledge the gifts of the Holy Spirit and the anointing of God.  You believe that the power of God was done away with in the book of Acts.  Do you speak in tongues?

    Rev, I am able to read you like a book (no pun intended).  To answer your previous question, "Mr. Pitbull, why did you wake up this morning with the pressing need to send me this message?"

    God wants to take your ministry to the next level.  You cannot do it with your book smarts and any of your seminary training.  You need the power of the Holy Spirit.  If you want it you can have it.  All you have to do is ask in Jesus' name.  Let me know and I will pray with you and the anointing of God will transmit through this wifi connection and anoint you with power and the Holy Ghost.

 I agree with you my beloved brother. God House Shall Be a House of prayer. We have made it a den of theives, shame on US (The Body of Christ). I only pray that we will not be lowed to sleep in God House. He said that If "I" be lifted up "I" will draw al men unto MYSELF. Why are we trying to do what ONLY God can do ALONE!!!  Dont' make me shout up in here!!!

The only one that are going to keep our youths,elders,leaders,and so on is God ALONE!!! OH Praise HIs Holy name!!! He ALONE is WORTHY!!! Lets Praise Him!!! all that aint right, God ALONE WILL MAKE IT RIGHT, now you can bank on that. Brother continue to hold up the BLOOD STAIN BANNER and trust that God will do what He has declared. SPEAK UP dont' hold back, make the enemy mad, let him know that we (TRUE BELIEVERS) are on the look out for his foolishness, and we will EXPOSE him for who he really is. Wow how ignorant can we get. We tell our youth to be used by God with Spiritual creativity and then we slam the Church doors in their face. When will we understand that they have more than we ever did to make Church Spiritual and have fun to keep then interested. Hip Hop is a culture that young people have embraced and they have their own reasoning to express themselves. The older generation did it with Woodstock, Mayday and others. We really need to stop making these kids come to Church and hear preachers and pastors discourage them with fire and brimstone but yet boring sermons. Our youth of today may not make perfect choices but I can say that they are smarter than most and they can tell the difference in your preaching. There is nothing wrong with Tradition, however there is something wrong when we allow Tradition to cause us to be ignorant to change. God Bless.

Point well taken Good Brother. I remember about 15 years ago they didn't want praise dancing in the church. Here is my thing...Jesus did great work just passing through town.

 Fellow Brethren in Christ, Hip-hop SHOULD be allowed in the church. Hip is a musical genre. A musical genre is defined by beats and rhythms. Beats and rhythms have no life if they are not infused with words. Its the word that have life. Hence, my position is that if young people decide to use original hip-hop beats and not 'cookie cutter beats from secular artists and infuse those beats with the unadulterated word of God then I say, Hip-Hop should be allowed in the church.

Jesus the Christ in Matthew 28:16-20 gave his disciples instructions. Moreover, these instructions are mandated to us even today. Jesus said ' Go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in them name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you.Music is a universal language that cuts across gender, race, creed and ethnicities. If  a Christ-filled, fire baptized youth decides to writes lyrics under the anointing of the Holy Ghost and decide to use the Hip-Hop musical genre to communicate that message; I say do not stifled the move of the Holy Ghost with man-made traditions and discrepancies. Let the power of God flow so that souls may be saved and new disciples be made through the spirit-filled music.

People of God it time for us to get serious about what we are doing. Thousands of youth each year are leaving the church, committing suicides, and homicides. People of God, its time for us to allow the power of God to move in our churches. Let the power of God  flows through the music so the word of God can keep them and preserve them.
