How Will We Be Judged? What Standard will be Used?

So just how will we be judged? Let’s see what the bible has to say:

Rom.1
28] And even as they did not like to retain God in their knowledge, God gave them over to a reprobate mind, to do those things which are not convenient;
[29] Being filled with all unrighteousness, fornication, wickedness, covetousness, maliciousness; full of envy, murder, debate, deceit, malignity; whisperers,
[30] Backbiters, haters of God, despiteful, proud, boasters, inventors of evil things, disobedient to parents,
[31] Without understanding, covenantbreakers, without natural affection, implacable, unmerciful:
[32] Who knowing the judgment of God, that they which commit such things are worthy of death, not only do the same, but have pleasure in them that do them.

Rom.2
[1] Therefore thou art inexcusable, O man, whosoever thou art that judgest: for wherein thou judgest another, thou condemnest thyself; for thou that judgest doest the same things.
[2] But we are sure that the judgment of God is according to truth against them which commit such things.
[3] And thinkest thou this, O man, that judgest them which do such things, and doest the same, that thou shalt escape the judgment of God?
[4] Or despisest thou the riches of his goodness and forbearance and longsuffering; not knowing that the goodness of God leadeth thee to repentance?
[5] But after thy hardness and impenitent heart treasurest up unto thyself wrath against the day of wrath and revelation of the righteous judgment of God;
[6] Who will render to every man according to his deeds:

So we will be judged by our deeds/works, not by our faith. Please understand one thing, this IS NOT my interpretation! This is what PAUL is telling the Romans what will happen and how God will judge. ROMANS…..GENTILES!!! Now how can these GENTILES NOT be under God’s laws when Paul is telling them they will be judged by them? Let’s read more.

[7] To them who by patient continuance in well doing seek for glory and honour and immortality, eternal life:
[8] But unto them that are contentious, and do not obey the truth, but obey unrighteousness, indignation and wrath,
[9] Tribulation and anguish, upon every soul of man that doeth evil, of the Jew first, and also of the Gentile;
[10] But glory, honour, and peace, to every man that worketh good, to the Jew first, and also to the Gentile:
[11] For there is no respect of persons with God.

So we see the reward and punishment will be the same for ALL. But how can that be if the Gentiles are not under the law? Is that fair? Should not the judge of all the world use the same standard?

[13] (For not the hearers of the law are just before God, but the doers of the law shall be justified.

So it will be those that do the Law that will be justified. Now just what is this law Paul speaks of?

[16] In the day when God shall judge the secrets of men by Jesus Christ according to my gospel.
[17] Behold, thou art called a Jew, and restest in the law, and makest thy boast of God,
[18] And knowest his will, and approvest the things that are more excellent, being instructed out of the law;
[19] And art confident that thou thyself art a guide of the blind, a light of them which are in darkness,
[20] An instructor of the foolish, a teacher of babes, which hast the form of knowledge and of the truth in the law.
[21] Thou therefore which teachest another, teachest thou not thyself? thou that preachest a man should not steal, dost thou steal?
[22] Thou that sayest a man should not commit adultery, dost thou commit adultery? thou that abhorrest idols, dost thou commit sacrilege?
[23] Thou that makest thy boast of the law, through breaking the law dishonourest thou God?

If the law was nailed to the cross, then what is being spoken of above? Paul keeps using the term ‘law’! Steal, adultery, murder, idols…these are all things contained in the law! The one most say was nailed to the cross. Remember, this letter from Paul is to the Romans…Gentiles! How is it he is asking them how they can be teachers of these things and yet commit these acts if the law was nailed to the cross and they are no longer to be held to them?

Now let’s go to the book of Rev. to see what God’s holy word says about how, or what, God will use as the standard for judgment. Let’s read what will be used when the books of life are opened;

Rev.20
[11] And I saw a great white throne, and him that sat on it, from whose face the earth and the heaven fled away; and there was found no place for them.
[12] And I saw the dead, small and great, stand before God; and the books were opened: and another book was opened, which is the book of life: and the dead were judged out of those things which were written in the books, according to their works.
[13] And the sea gave up the dead which were in it; and death and hell delivered up the dead which were in them: and they were judged every man according to their works.
[14] And death and hell were cast into the lake of fire. This is the second death.
[15] And whosoever was not found written in the book of life was cast into the lake of fire.

So harmony among the scriptures still exsist, even until the last book of the bible. Now believe what you want, but God's holy word says when the books are opened it will be WORKS that will be used to judge you, those SAME WORKS Paul tells the Romans....GENTILES to perform.

Here they are again just in case you rushed through them the first time;

Rom.2
[22] Thou that sayest a man should not commit adultery, dost thou commit adultery? thou that abhorrest idols, dost thou commit sacrilege?
[23] Thou that makest thy boast of the law, through breaking the law dishonourest thou God?

Now how can they break a law that has been nailed to Christs' cross? Simple....only ONE set of laws was nailed to his cross... The Sacrificial Laws!!!

ALL of the others still stand!!!
