A Pastor has to love the sheep, too often people choose Pastors because they can preach well, but eloquence is not the earmark of a great Pastor, it is LOVE. Pastors have to care for those that are hurting and broken, and at the same time be open to have the other 4 ministry offices SHARE in the ministry. I think too often it has been supposed that the office of Pastor is the most important office, but they all are equally important. A Pastor needs an Evangelist to bring souls into a place where they can be nurtured and fed the sincere milk of the Word of God.

John 10:11-13

11. I am the good shepherd: the good shepherd giveth his life for the sheep.

12. But he that is an hireling, and not the shepherd, whose own the sheep are not, seeth the wolf coming, and leaveth the sheep, and fleeth: and the wolf catcheth them, and scattereth the sheep.

13. The hireling fleeth, because he is an hireling, and careth not for the sheep.

It takes real love as you have stated for a Shepherd to Nurture the sheep with the love of God.
You are so right. Seems the only requirements these days are those who can pump the crowd. And excite the people.
Thank you for clearing up doubts my brother , I only wish and pray that peronalities in the pastoral position .
Could discern and truly feel that way . How can you bvring that point of wisdom about with out the persons feeling disrespected?
Your statement is correct, but it helps
Sis. Lee I agree, some do have a talent in speaking, but real is always visible from the faux. It has to be if the Spirit lives in you, for you would discern it.
