Believers have every right to worship on the Sabbath and they should if they are convinced that is the right thing to do. However, if any member of any church were to require a person to worship on the Sabbath as a sign of "true" Christianity or "true" redemption, then that is wrong. According to Rom. 14:1-12, we are free.

Additionally, Sunday is the day that the Lord Jesus rose from the dead. The Jewish people who had rejected Jesus continued to worship on Saturday, the Sabbath. But it was the Christians who celebrated Jesus' resurrection and this was most probably the driving force to gather on the first day of the week.

Though there is no explicit NT statement authenticating Sunday worship, there are plenty of verses dealing with Sunday, the first day of the week, as being special, a day of breaking bread, and of gathering collections.

Jesus rose from the dead on the first day of the week (Matt. 28:1-7; Mark 16:2, 9; Luke 24:1; John 20:1).
Jesus appeared to the disciples on the first day of the week (John 20:19).
Jesus appeared inside the room to the eleven disciples eight days after the first day of the week. The Jewish way of measuring days meant that it was again Sunday
(John 20:26).
The Holy Spirit came on Pentecost, the first day of the week (Lev. 23:16; Acts 2:1).
The first sermon was preached by Peter on the first day of the week (Acts 2:14).
Three thousand converts joined the church on the first day of the week (Acts 2:41).
The three thousand were baptized on the first day of the week (Acts 2:41).
The Christians assembled broke bread on the first day of the week.
The Christians also heard a message from Paul on the first day of the week (Acts 20:7). Note: the reference is until midnight which is not the Jewish method of measuring days, but the Roman system.
Paul instructed the churches to put aside contributions on the first day of the week
(1 Cor. 16:2).
Jesus gave the apostle John the vision of Revelation on the first day of the week
(Rev. 1:10).1
Bro. Anthony Watson and Trevor Greene both addressed and taught on this issue in full details with scriptures. But, unfortunately, the debate continues everywhere the word Sabbath appears.

REASONS WHY CHRISTIANS OBSERVE THE 1ST DAY

Sis. Harris I realize that but remember jesus would OFTEN repeat teaching over and over and over, as did Paul. My job as a teacher is to keep teaching the truth, and that is what I will do so there is no need to "remind" me of previous teachings on a subject, I will keep hammering until the Holy spirit tells me to stop.
You gets no argument from me on that point.

Keep teaching Bro. Mark.
Matthew 12:38-40 Then certain of the scribes and of the Pharisees answered, saying, Master, we would see a sign from thee.But he answered and said unto them, An evil and adulterous generation seeketh after a sign; and there shall no sign be given to it, but the sign of the prophet Jonas: For as Jonas was three days and three nights in the whale's belly; so shall the Son of man be three days and three nights in the heart of the earth

3 days and 3 nights right? Get 3 days and 3 nights from good Friday evening to Easter Sunday Morning. Friday evening(half a day) Saturday Morning/ evening (full day) That looks like 2 days and nights to me. Can you count to 3 because most can't count to 7?

Here is the scripture for what day the Messiah died.

Daniel 9:26-27 And after threescore and two weeks shall Messiah be cut off, but not for himself: and the people of the prince that shall come shall destroy the city and the sanctuary; and the end thereof shall be with a flood, and unto the end of the war desolations are determined. And he shall confirm the covenant with many for one week: and in the midst of the week he shall cause the sacrifice and the oblation to cease, and for the overspreading of abominations he shall make it desolate, even until the consummation, and that determined shall be poured upon the desolate.

So, the Messiah was killed in the middle of the week. What is the middle of the week, wednesday right? So, let's try it according to the scriptures. 3 days and 3 nights.

Wednesday evening (Half a day). Thursday Morning Evening( 1day and night) Friday Morning, Evening (2 days and nights) Saturday Morning, (half a day) rose Saturday evening.This look like 3 days and 3 nights to me. The Sabbath Day, not Sunday morning.

In the end of the sabbath, as it began to dawn toward the first day of the week, came Mary Magdalene and the other Mary to see the sepulchre. And, behold, there was a great earthquake: for the angel of the Lord descended from heaven, and came and rolled back the stone from the door, and sat upon it. His countenance was like lightning, and his raiment white as snow: And for fear of him the keepers did shake, and became as dead men. And the angel answered and said unto the women, Fear not ye: for I know that ye seek Jesus, which was crucified. He is not here: for he is risen, as he said. Come, see the place where the Lord lay.

So, in the end of the Sabbath, as it began to dawn toward the 1st day, Jesus was already gone, but I thought he rose on Easter Sunday Morning. It wasn't even dawn yet, and Jesus had risen.
So, we can finally come to one accord on this Sabbath Day controversy.

Remember Brother The Sabbath is a sign between God and His people this we can read.

Ex 31:13 Speak thou also unto the children of Israel, saying, Verily my sabbaths ye shall keep: for it is a sign between me and you throughout your generations; that ye may know that I am the LORD that doth sanctify you.

Now lets flip the scrip Brother

any other day that is not kept holy to the Lord is a sign between those that keep it holy and satan.

Lets read

Jn 8:44 Ye are of your father the devil, and the lusts of your father ye will do. He was a murderer from the beginning, and abode not in the truth, because there is no truth in him. When he speaketh a lie, he speaketh of his own: for he is a liar, and the father of it.

what is the sign between God and hIs people?

the sabbath!!!
The Lord must not have taken the deep sleep off of some of these Brothers, and sisters.
neither has they given them Knowledge of counting.

1=sunday
2=monday
3=tuesday
4=wednesday
5=thursday
6=friday
7=saturday(sabbath)

dictionary.com says saturday is the 7th day of the week
the seventh day of the week, following Friday.
http://dictionary.reference.com/browse/saturday?db=dictionary

it also states this concerning sunday

1. the first day of the week, observed as the Sabbath by most Christian sects.

Jesus said

Ex 20:8 Remember the sabbath day, to keep it holy.

now I understand why Jesus said remember the sabbath
it say the christians keep sunday as there sabbath.

followers of Jesus should be keeping the 7th day sabbath.
What are you talking about?
To save myself from all of this typing over and over and over again, I'll just cut & paste!
That's one way to "repeat" my teachings!
My friends, we keep going over this same material, and we continue to discuss religious events from faulty premises. Just consider that Jesus was to be in the ground for three days and nights (Matthew 12:40), now fit that in with Jesus being burred on a 'Friday' evening and being raised from the dead before sunrise on 'Sunday' and explain how to cram these three days and nights (something a little less than 72 hours) into a period less than 36 hours.

During the first century, there was no 7-day solar calendar in use.The Romans were still using an 8-day, 10 month calendar (pre Julian calandar) and the Jews were still using their seven-day lunar calendar with 1-2 extended solar days between the last 7th day week and the start of the next month with the advent of a new moon. Note: the Jewish day starts at sundown, not at sun rise or even at midnight. This also impacts the 'first day' meetings of the church, which occurred at the close of the 7th day Sabbath, for the breaking of bread and fellowship (the evening supper) (John 20:19, Acts 20:7).

Also, at Passover there are generally two Sabbaths and two 'first days' of weeks all occurring within 3-5 days of each other. In order to understand the events of this holiday, we must divorce ourselves from all references to the Roman solar day calendar and interpret all scripture in light of the Hebrew lunar calendar and time reckoning. Without this change in world view, it is impossible to understand the sequence of events or their individual importance to the history of the church. It is also possible that there was included a third Sabbath day in these events, the 'High Sabbath', the Shabbat Hagadol (as recorded John 19:31), or it might be in reference to the Pasach day Sabbath, also a high Sabbath.. As to the first day: It could be the first day of the lunar week or the first day of the counting of the seven weeks of the Omer, following either the 7th day or the Pasach (Passover) day Sabbaths.

At best, Christ rose on what we now call Sunday only once in every 3-6 years.Last year we celebrated 'Easter' a full month late and even on the wrong day of the week.

So, when we talk about what might have happened on a Friday, a Saturday, or on a Sunday, even if those days existed in a seven day solar week at that time, the events of interest may have occurred on what we would now call a Monday, a Tuesday, or some other day, depending on the phase of the moon - not the sun.

This is an excellent example where Hebrew history, culture, religion and language all have an impact on how the scriptures are to be understood. As long as we hold to the interpretation of scripture according to a western world view, much of what the word of God has to offer remains lost in the translation.
