Strategies for Effective Evangelism

What methods does your church use to share the gospel? What modes of evangelism work best for you in your area? Outreach events? Tent services? Door to Door?

 

Our church has recently revived a moribund Home & Foreign Missions department... and we've been exploring some new evangelistic activities. We used to depend on our Food Pantry and a yearly community dinner as our primary outreach vehicles, but after some honest reflection we realized that those mechanisms were not as impactful as they had once been. The reformatted missions department is trying to think outside the box: For example, the Saturday before Easter, we secured the services of several neighborhood barbers to provide discounted ($5) haircuts at the church. We also held a few free barbeques in our parking lot during the summer months. Lots of foot-traffic for these events, so we felt we were at least increasing our dispersal of "good seed." Still waiting to see the harvest come in, though.
