In the first century, the only scriptures the first century church had were the old testament scriptures. When Yahshua, died, and resurrected, they did not trash the Old Testament. They did not set it aside, rather, they continued to teach from it, and to obey the laws written in it.

It was only til centuries later, when the Church strayed away from studying, and living the Old Testament, to only studying, and living the New Testament, and thus, lawlessness was growing alarmingly. Yahweh is calling us Church back to Torah living. Who will respond to this call???

We have the ability to view how the early church developed, and in some cases they did have the same scriptures we now teach from in the letters written to them by the apostles. The early church was taught how Jesus fullfilled everything the law and prophets taught.
Culberson,

All of the NT letters, and Gospels, are teachings from the OT itself. The NT Church only had the OT as their scripture. It was their teaching. Yahshua fulfilled the law, yes, but that does not take on the meaning of destroying it, and taking it out of commission. The early Church still practiced the laws of Yahweh.
