This is a topic that every now and then, I run into and realize that some believe that God answers the prayers of a sinner.

Would like to see if anyone here believes that and why, of course bring scripture

Evan,

That's an awesome question. Hmmm, well Psalm 66:18,"If I had cherished iniquity in my heart, the Lord would not have listened." If we regard setting aside Torah in our hearts, which is what the sinner does, the Lord would not listen to his prayer.

Proverbs 28:9,"If one turns away his ear from hearing the Torah, even his prayer is an abomination." If one does not want to hear and obey Torah, then his prayers are an abomination.

So, to answer your question.. Does Yahweh answer the prayers of sinners/wicked? No, he does not.
I agree with you, lets see if some others reply and then we can discuss it
k
I find many times ones want to justify this thought with, I know that God answered my prayer while I was in sin. However I challenge that, are ones sure it's their prayers that HE is answering.

the bible tells us that no man goes to the Father except through HIS Son, this speaks of all ways, petitions as well.

In ministering on the inside I hear many bros/sis will state "God put me here to save my life" no God created them in HIS IMAGE, and HE did not create HIS Image to be in bondage.

However the prayers of the righteous availeth much

1Peter 3:12 For the eyes of the Lord are over the righteous, and his ears are open unto their prayers: but the face of the Lord is against them that do evil.

How many mothers, wives and others pray "Lord help my love one"? Incarceration for some is that help.

A sinner does not have to prayer for salvation the word is plain on how to achieve salvation, there is no sinner's prayer. You confess with your mouth

Romans 10:9
That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved
yes yes.
Evan Fuggett, you said (and very well I might add):

A sinner does not have to prayer for salvation the word is plain on how to achieve salvation, there is no sinner's prayer. You confess with your mouth

Romans 10:9
That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved

1. Where did the term"sinner's prayer" come from?
2. Should it be reworded as the "sinner's confession or confession of belief"?
3. Is there specific verbiage (certain words that MUST be said) in what is called the "sinner's prayer"? Should something be repeated by rote?
4. At what point are they no longer a sinners and can pray to the Father?
5. When a Believer sins, how does he pray to the Father?

And I guess the BIG QUESTION from the "man on the street" would be...

"What is prayer and how do I do it?"
"Am I praying when I make a verbal confession to God about my sins? If not, at what point does my confession turn into prayer?"
1. I don't know? I'm sure R.Kelly wasn't the first to come up with it, but I don't know who did?
2. I don't see a problem with that
3. Not by rote, but with sincerity of heart one must acknowledge that Jesus lived, died and rose and ascended and that they believe it in their heart and make HIM their Lord and Savior.
4.At the end of #3
5.First he asks for forgiveness, repentence of the transgression, then continue in prayer

Prayer is a conversation with God, that's all, I always ask for forgiveness, for there are times we may sin unaware, We must pray in Jesus/Yeshua's Name, but know first and foremost, it's not the style, the length or the formula, but the sincerity that matters
Thank you for answering the questions Evg Fugett. I can say that what I like most about you Evg. Fugett, is that you don't get super spiritual with your answers. I see that you are truly an evangelist and can speak plainly not all "churchy" like a lot of religious leaders who tend to totally lose the attention of the "man on the street" because they are speaking in "Christianese" and expecting unbelievers or babes in Christ to TOTALLY comprehend what they are trying to convey.

At that point, both the unbeliever, babe and Super Saved Christian Leader get frustrated and walk away from one another and nothing is accomplished.

Here's a few more from that analytical "man on the street".

1. Is there a prayer that God will NOT hear?

2. If the prayer that God will NOT hear is not the prayer of a sinner, then why are sinners repeatedly told that God will not hear a sinner's prayer?

3. In regards to God's word, which is worst, a sinner or an unbeliever? Or,are they one in the same?

5. How many sins does it take for a person to be considered a sinner?

6. If Believers are confessing "sins", are they sinners?
Thank you Minister Tracy, you know I remember ME lost, so I don't understand getting super spiritual with anyone, I leave all that to God

1. A prayer that does not line up to his will, will not be answered, don't pray against ones life, (I know you've heard of this minister praying for Obama's death, that will be an unanswered prayer) or one's prosperity, or your advancement in something you know is wrong, it has to come up to the standard that God has set.

2. If a believer prays that which is not in the will of God, God still hears, he does not answer.

3.2Peter 2:21 For it had been better for them not to have known the way of righteousness, than, after they have known it, to turn from the holy commandment delivered unto them.
Althought they are one in the same.

4&5 When one lives a habitual life of sin, I don't keep count for God is not through with any of us yet, man will give up on you but God's grace and mercy is new each and everyday

6. No, we all sin anyone who says he doesn't is a liar, this flesh we live in will always let us down, but we have confessed our belief in Jesus and HIS blood covers our sin from the Father.
Praise the Lord Saints!!

John 9:31 Now we know that God heareth not sinners: but if any man be a worshipper of God, and doeth his will, him he heareth. (KJV)

Isa 59:1-2 Behold, the LORD's hand is not shortened, that it cannot save; neither his ear heavy, that it cannot hear: But your iniquities have separated between you and your God, and your sins have hid his face from you, that he will not hear. (KJV)

I beleive God will answer a prayer of a sinner is when they are in a repentance stage leading to salvation
Evangelist, explain to me what you mean by "repentance stage"
going into repentance(being Godly Sorry) when a person is ready to give up their ways and turn to the Lord..
