To tithe or not to tithe....That is the question?

Preachers & pastors are robbing the people yet they tell you, you are robbing God if you don't tithe. There is no new testament commandment yet these liars are binding people to the law of tithing which was never money. Tithing was to the Levites, the poor and the widows. And then the Levites were to tithe to the priest. Tithing was a 10th of your livestock or crops but never money. Where did that lie come from? There are no New Testament scriptures to support bringing tithe money to these modern day preachers to pay bills, salaries, buy houses, cars, land and such. Why are so many people still falling for this lie?

Giving is definitely a part of our lives as Children of God. However, it must be according to the scripture. Give as it is purposed in your heart to give. It is not a law with a penalty attached. Remember that.

Wow...Creflo (Dollar Bill ya'll) Dollar is one of the worse..He said, "The tithe is the connector of the Covenant)? LOL why do we as black folk continue to fall for such foolishness and wonder why we are the laughing stock of the world. Tired of this garbage...We must confront these wolves powerfully and boldly and clean house. why do we stand on the sidelines and allow these pimp preachers to get away with grand theft by way of God's Word. This is the worse manipulation I have ever seen. Nothing he says speaks about holiness, sanctification, sacrifice, simplifying your life, fornication, hell or heaven for that manner. Its all about how to be wealthy on earth. I don't even watch this nonsense on tel-LIE-vision because of this, just infuriates me to no end. I'm surprised most aren't as angry about this as those who are really seeking God. What a scam. But who I really feel sorry for is the easily led sheeple who flock to his churches who are sucked into this deception and are continuingly being set up to be led like sheep without a good shepard on their way to eternal slaughter. And please don't tell me to pray for Creflo. I'm praying alright for God to demonstrate His wrath on those who use His word to deceive even the elect of Christ. Where are the real men/woman of God who will speak out against this???

I for one am tired of the attacks on those that expose this mess and softness that others feel we should apply to the perpetrators. I am to the point of not caring how others feel about what we preach. Many don't realize that these people are wolves and will eat you alive. They care nothing about your souls and yet everyone says that we should stick and stay and just pray for the wolves. The young man who put together this video was once a member at Creflo (Pimp) Dollars church and he sat there for years before getting tired. He is constantly under fire on youtube and have had his account suspended many times for simply telling the truth about these deceivers.

Today seems to be the day of protecting the evil and punishing the good.

What the Bible really teaches concerning giving money and other resources.

Contrary to popular belief, the Bible does not teach us that we should still be tithing. Tithing was one of the many commands that God gave to the Israelites. No where in the Bible is it taught that we should stop doing all the other things contained in those laws (like sacrificing animals, honoring God on the Sabbath, not eating certain animals, etc) except the law of tithing. The Bible clearly does not teach that tithing is the only part of the Old Covenant laws that we should still be doing .

God did make a promise to the Israelites in the book of Malachi but New Covenant Christians were not the intended audience. We are told in Hebrews 7:22 and other places that the covenant God has for believers ever since his son Jesus Christ died and rose from the dead is a 'better' covenant. This covenant of grace is better in all ways.

This message is not some new trick to try to get people to give more. Instead this is an attempt to teach that Christians can be free of the bondage of tithing and give the same way it is taught and demonstrated in the New Covenant. The Bible teaches that we are to enjoy being generous!

What is tithing?

None of the 'tithing' that occurs now has any connection to the definition of tithing contained in the Bible. (other than to mention 10%). In a nutshell, the were three tithes from some of the Israelites and a 4th from the Levites to the Levite priests.

1)The Levitical tithe required those who raised crops (not everyone and not all professions - just those who raised crops) to give 10% of that to the Levites. This tithe only occurred 6 years out of the 7 year cycle. It also required those that raised 10 or more animals to give each tenth animal that passed under the rod to the Levites. If a person raised less than 10 animals, they were not required to tithe.

2) From what was given to them, the Levites in turn had to give a tenth of the very best to the priests.

3) The festival tithe required that those who raised crops or animals to set aside 10% for the annual festivals. It was for the people to have a party and consume the food joyfully and alcoholic beverages (strong drink) if they wanted.

4) The Poor tithe occurred only in the 3rd and 6th years of the seven year cycle. This was set aside for the poor.

All tithes were always food and NEVER money and yes, they did have money and silver back then. Everybody did not raise crops for a living.
