“For the priesthood being changed, there is made of necessity a change also of the law.” Heb.7:12
Now what law could Paul be talking about where there was a “necessity” for it to be changed? In other words, what law could Paul be speaking of that HAD to be changed!
Some hold that Paul is ONLY speaking about God’s Laws as a whole, and that EVERYTIME he mentions the ‘law’ it is God’s laws in it’s entirety…all 613 laws! But can that really be the case? We know the law Paul is talking about above HAD to be changed! But was Paul saying ALL 613 of God’s laws HAD to be changed? Or just ONE!
Paul’s writings can be “hard” to understand at times. As a matter of fact, Paul is the ONLY writer in the entire bible, we are given a WARNING about. Let’s read the warning Peter gave us about Paul’s writings when thinking about these questions:
“… even as our beloved brother Paul also according to the wisdom given unto him hath written unto you;
“As also in all his epistles, speaking in them of these things; in which are some things hard to be understood, which they that are unlearned and unstable wrest, as they do also the other scriptures, unto their own destruction.” 2 Peter 3:15-16
For those following another post of mine, you may find this very interesting! Because if we find that Paul IS talking about ONLY (1) law, there is the possibility that the “Law That was Added” is singular also! Who knows……they may even be one in the same!! Now won’t that just mess up many years of study???
Above are questions everybody reading the bible SHOULD be asking themselves? Why? Because the inspired word of God commands us to do so;
1 Thes.5:21 Prove all things; hold fast that which is good.
2 Tim.3:16 All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness:
2 Tim.4”…make full proof of thy ministry.”
Let’s keep the commandments of God and PROVE what Paul is saying. And let’s do it with the Holy Scriptures.
So again my question to the forum is this:
What law is it that Paul said HAD TO BE CHANGED?
Not trying to change minds. Just trying to get some to look at and question what they have been taught!
