In Matthew 16:18 Jesus Gave Peter the keys to the kingdom, What are the Keys and when did Peter use them? In a day and age where more and more people are claiming to be Kingdom minded lets leave Denomination and Tradition behind and embrace Kingdom. Your input please.

Thank you for responding. My question is Jesus Gave Peter the Keys to the kingdom, Before you or I gained access Peter was given the keys what were they and when did He(Peter) use them? You are Right on when you say Authority......

Ok no one wants to delve into this so I will. Matthew 16:18 Jesus asked the disciples who men said he was; Elias one of the prophets;was the anwer he got from them. Then Jesus ask who do you say that I am? Peter answerd thou art the Christ Son of the living God. Jesus declared to Peter that His Revelation was from God and not men. Jesus then Gives Peter the keys to the kingdom. The Authority to open the Kingdom. All of Christiandom will agree there was no church before the day of Pentecost. On the day of Pentecost Peter used the keys. 1) The Gospel; Peter preached the Gospel Death, Burial and Resurrection upon hearing the Gospel the Jews responded Men and Bretheren what shall we do? Acts 2:38 was Peters response to the question. He was not in contradiction to Matthew 28:19 He was in Obedience to it. He was operating in the Authority that Jesus Gave him. this was Peters Apostolic authority. He preached on the Day of Pentecost and opend the kingdom to Jews. In Acts 10 Peter again uses his Apostolic authority to open the Kingdom to Gentiles He first Preached the Gospel Death Burial and Resurrection upon hearing the Gospel The Holy Ghost fell on the Gentile hearers and those that came with the Apostle questioned Can any man forbid Water.... Peter then Commanded them to be Baptised in the Name of the Lord Jesus. the keys represent Authority and when Peter exercised his authority He Preached the Gospel;Death, Burial and Resurrection of Jesus Christ. and He instructed the Respondents to the Gospel to be Baptised In the Name of the Lord Jesus Christ. He did not contradict Jesus He obeyed the commision by going, Preaching and Baptising. It is Gods plan that when he opened the Doors of the church to the Jews and Gentiles Peter was there with the keys. this is not Denomination it is Kingdom no matter what the name on the building you can embrace the truth of Gods word and Practice water baptism in the Name of the Lord Jesus Christ, because it is biblical not denominational.

The Bible plainly said that when Jesus asked his disciples whom do men say that I am he was looking to get a response. I mean they were with him all the time but he wanted to know did they know who he was? Remember he was the Son of GOD so he knew what their thoughts would be and their was a reason he asked!

And when they began to say some were saying he was like Elias, and John the Baptist, he asked whom do you say that I am and Peter was the one who responded Thou art the Christ the Son of the Living GOD. now JESUS knew that it was not flesh and blood that made him say it in other words (peter had the faith to believe Jesus was who he said he was) and because of his Faith in GOD Peter was given the keys to the kingdom that day.

Listen even though Peter was the one that was given the keys to the kingdom that day he did not have to wait until the day of Pentecost to use them. Jesus said and I say unto thee thou art Peter and upon this rock will build my church and the gates of hell shall not prevail against it.

( which rock was it?) The Rock of Faith (Hebrews 11:1) Why? Peter Believed Jesus was who he said he was and because of his faith he was given the keys to bind and loose now what does the bind and loose enable someone that believes the ability to do?

Well let's just say this my daughter had a vision and she called me up to tell me, She said mommy I saw in this Vision what happens when we say I bind or loose something in the name of Jesus. She said when someone say's I bind whatever it is in the Name of JESUS. Immediately the Angels of GOD with Swords come down with Swords in their hands and Stab it into the Earth and everything is bound up (let me take a praise break) she said if a person is sick the hole or sickness immediately closes up when you say I bind whatever it is in the name of Jesus.

GOD wants his people to know that! now that particular day I was in prayer and prophetically I was binding stuff up that was not right, and if you are prophetic you can also hear in the spirit and what the enemy was trying to do was make me feel like you have been going through this particular thing and I am not moving.

so the enemy thought and I left the situation of prayer that day in the hands of God and that night 3am she called me to tell me what she saw about binding and loosing and that message was to let me know what happens when we as people of GOD bind and loose.

We are the ones who choose to believe in JESUS NAME and Since his name is above every name the angels react to his name in heaven and earth and things under the earth(can I just take another praise break right there)!!!

So use his Name it is Powerful!

And Sir if you don't mind me saying those who are kingdom minded are the ones with Signs and Wonders following them because they believe In the Name of Jesus people choose to fight over denominational issues about the name the proof is in the pudding the evidence will speak for itself who is kingdom minded and who is not.

but can we get down to the real facts of JESUS AND THAT IS HE IS THE SON OF GOD (that is another praise break right there can we just have Apostolic Pentecostal Holy Ghost JESUS Conference Where the Presiding Prelate and Shepard and Bishop of our souls is in the Building with the manifesting presence that is evident enough to change all of our lives.

No one is showing off trying to do nothing but worship now that is my kind of Service...... Because the World is going to witness the true power and anointing of the Holy Ghost and when they do it will be their chance to believe and receive or else..............................To be continued (I believe there is room for one more praise break right here.........

Peter did have to wait until pentecost to use the keys. 1) he had no Holy Ghost therefore he had no power. 2) the keys were to the kingdom the kingdom was not placed in the disciples hands until the Death, burial and resurection of Jesus christ.3) Binding and loosing is more than just words or faith in your words It is using the power of authority that Jesus left the Body of Jesus Christ. And that work is done through and by the power of the holy Ghost. Unfortunately people have made Apostolic faith a denomination. However Im talking about the Gospel Death burial and resurection that is the message of the kingdom and proper response to that message is Repentance water baptisim in the Name of Jesus and receiving the Gift of the Holy Ghost. that is not denomination thats Bible.

This forum was not meant to be argumentative in nature and as a woman of god I am not trying to prove a point here on denomination which just happens to be a choice of one's personal belief.

You asked a question and I answered it! Yet it amazes me how you thought Peter had to wait until the day of Pentecost to use the keys.

Now don't get upset with me Bishop I say this in love, but the Bible say's this 2nd Peter 1:21 for Prophecy came not in old time by the will of man but Holy Men of GOD Spake as they were moved by the HOLY GHOST.

SO if The Holy Ghost was evident and moving upon Men's life and they were able to prophetically decree and declare the word of god as they were moved by the holy ghost. back in the olde days

JESUS Plainly said

And I will give unto thee the keys of the kingdom of heaven: and whatsoever thou shalt bind on earth shall be bound in heaven: and whatsoever thou shalt loose on earth shall be loosed in heaven.

can you tell me where JESUS said to Peter in this scripture but before I give you the keys wait till the day of Pentecost before you use them now. cause I did not see it!!

Now i know you are going to say Jesus told the disciples to tarry in Jerusalem until they be endued with power from on high.

Well Bishop then explain John being filled with the Holy Ghost from his mothers womb!!!

and if you think for one minute that binding and loosing does not take just words or faith in your words think again because then death and life may not be in the power of your tongue!

first of all you cannot bind up the strong man without first believing in JESUS and if we confess with our mouth bishop that is words and believe in our heart that is proof that God has raised JESUS from the dead thou shalt be saved.

For with the heart man believes unto righteousness and with the MOUTH What!!!! confession is made unto salvation!

Peter knew who Jesus was and he opened up his mouth and decreed and declared the word and the work of the lord and without faith it is impossible to please GOD.

Faith is a confession of what you believe and when you open up your mouth and decree and declare at the name of JESUS (that is a praise break right there) every knee shall bow and every tongue shall confess you cannot confess unless you speak.... is there anybody in the room that will say AMEN.

I am sorry you thought I came to argue a point. In actuality and with boldness even if you kick me off of the group the Holy Ghost has always made his presence known since the beginning of time.

I was not just dipped in the water the apostolic prophetic call of GOD on my life became a lifestyle. and yes it comes with boldness and authority to BIND AND TO LOOSE.

I heard a preacher declare on TBN what others saw in my living room and that is the visible presence of the almighty GOD in my kitchen and it was so strongly evident that it was called the GLORY CLOUD.

At first we were afraid but when you fast and pray and your heart loves JESUS MY GOD!!

nobody went in that kitchen and when we did we went in the other way.... Bishop the presence of the Lord came to rest in my home and when it moved from the kitchen to the living room and folks who came over thought we were cooking yet it was no smell of smoke Bishop I was not on the board of elders and I did not recieve an ordination from Man but Prophetically I Know ............. That is a Praise Break Right there

God not only did Miracles but people came to bless us because it was evident that this is that..... so No sir I am not going to argue the word and I respect your Bishoprick but I will speak that which I know to be the true manifestation and proclamation of GOD'S DIVINE PRESENCE. and do i have the keys to the kingdom did i have to wait for a Bishop in his DIOCESE to hand me the visible manifestation and smoke of the Lord that shows up or can anyone explain the light that shines on my face when I get into the presence of God in a service folks tell me I turn Light Skinned who got time to play and fight over ordinations and denominations. One thing God let me Know and that I will not deny My foundation will and always will be apostolic.

In my closing Man of God JESUS IS most certainly making himself known this is the last day and it is time to let the HOLY GHOST REST RULE AND ABIDE because then and only then the anointing of God can enable us as believers to get the job done that others are not trying to do.....that is another praise break right there......

WHO'S WORD? THE APOSTLES. We are to believe on Jesus Christ through THEIR WORD! God Gave them the TRUTH!

The person By walking in God's Grace Must Decide if He's Going to Walk in God's Word or Do NOTHING!

As we Read It's Also important To Obey the Gospel.
Here's another example in Romans 2:7-9 (King James Version)

God Has Granted Grace to Us So we can have space to repent and Believe The Gospel before we die! Not To Continue in Sin And Say Yeah I Believe You Lord Your Grace will save me and Do Nothing!

Guess What? In James 1:22 (King James Version)says:

22But be ye doers of the word, and not hearers only, deceiving your own selves.
James 2:19-21 (King James Version)

19Thou believest that there is one God; thou doest well: the devils also believe, and tremble.

20But wilt thou know, O vain man, that faith without works is dead?

21Was not Abraham our father justified by works, when he had offered Isaac his son upon the altar?

He Had Faith What God HAD Said and By His Works HE SHOWED HE BELIEVED GOD!
What If Abraham Said YEAH LORD I BELIEVE AND Went on a picnic with His Son and forgot about What God Asked Him to Do? He would have been disobedient.

OK, Another example is Noah. When God Told Noah to Build the Ark . What If Noah Said YEAH LORD I HAVE FAITH YOU CAN MAKE US FLOAT ABOVE THE WATER WHEN THE FLOODS COME AND YOU SAVE US! AND WENT AND SAT UNDER AN OLD OAK TREE UNTIL THE FLOODS CAME?
WHAT WOULD HAVE HAPPENED? HE AND HIS FAMILY AND ALL THE ANIMALS WOULD HAVE DROWNED! WHY? Because He Didn't Obey God at His WORD!
Also when he built the ark by FAITH God TOLD HIM TO MAKE IT OUT OF GOFER WOOD! If Noah built it out of some other wood It Would have probably Would have Sunk! SO IT"S VERY IMPORTANT TO DO IT THE WAY GOD SAYS TO DO IT!
God Sent These Men (The Apostles) (John 17:17-20)He GAVE THEM TRUTH AND PRAYED THAT WE WOULD BELIEVE ON HIM THROUGH THEIR WORD! WHO"S Word? The Apostles. Read it for your self. He Gave Peter The Keys!
So What Did He Preach to be saved? Acts 2:38 (King James Version)

38Then Peter said unto them, Repent, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost.
Notice those who gladly received the Word of God Was Baptized. (Acts 2:41 same chapter)They Had Faith and obedience by the Grace Of God! Some People say Baptism is not necessary!
If The Rest of The Apostles Didn't agree with this message Don't you think one of them would have stood up and Corrected Him?
I had someone say to me Well Whose Words are you going to believe? Jesus(God) Or MANS THE APOSTLES?
I replied I am going To Believe THE WHOLE WORD OF God! Both! What we Have Here Is Man contradicting Scripture! If YOU DON"T BELIEVE THE Apostle's Word THAN YOU MIGHT AS WELL THROW AWAY MOST OF THE ENTIRE NEW TESTAMENT! why even bother reading it if you don't believe it!

God's Word Is in Agreement through out the Whole Bible! It ALWAYS flows in Perfect Harmony! It Never Changes!
My Prayer Is : 2 Timothy 2:25-26 (King James Version)

25In meekness instructing those that oppose themselves; if God peradventure will give them repentance to the acknowledging of the truth;

26And that they may recover themselves out of the snare of the devil, who are taken captive by him at his will.

So my question to you is? If you Heard This message of Acts 2:38 Just Now, What will keep you from obeying the Truth? Or Will you say YEAH LORD I BELIEVE! AND do nothing toward Obedience to His Word? Ignore This Scripture (Acts 2:38,) Jesus Even said you Cannot enter in the Kingdom of God if you are not Born-Again in (John 3:3-5)and YET SOME believe God can go outside of His word And Save you?

. I have different views on this and so do you and as forestated I can better win souls for the kingdom of GOD than to argue about the keys to the kingdom.

On the day of Pentecost Peter used all of the keys in one act; The preaching of the Gospel, Death, Burial and Resurrection of Jesus Christ with the preaching of the Gospel this kingdom age was opened. The church must keep the Gospel and winning the lost as its primary purpose. Then the five fold ministry will have something to do.
