- Elder Verngina Smith is the daughter of Elder Johnny and Evangelist Doris Smith, Sr. of Fremont, North Carolina. She was reared in Palmer Park, MD and moved to North Carolina in 1983. She later relocated back to the Metropolitan area in early 2001. Elder Smith has two beautiful children, Evangelist Curtis J. Murray, Jr. of Clarksburg, MD and Shenita R. Yelverton of Goldsboro, NC.
Elder Smith preached her initial sermon in December 1992 at Holly Street Holiness Church, Goldsboro, NC. She has over 15 years of ministerial experience. She has served faithfully at three ministries ranging from Non-Denominational, Baptist, and Pentecostal. She now serves as an Associate Pastor of Greater Love Christian Center, Waldorf, MD under the leadership of Pastor Derrick D. Kemp.
Currently at Greater Love Christian Center, Elder Smith is charged with assisting to shepherd the disciples and provide general oversight to all church ministries and functions. She provides direct ministerial oversight and organization to Women In Action, New Covenant Disciples and Christian Education.
She is the founder of a women's circle called D.I.V.A.S. (Divine Inspired Victorious and Anointed Sisters). She has a strong love for ministering to hurting woman and anyone in need of Christ. Her favorite scripture is Jeremiah 29:11 "For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, says the LORD, thoughts of peace and not of evil, to give you a future and a hope."
