I couldn't discuss victory without talking about loss. Loss is not always the flip side of victory as in every war there are casualties, no matter who wins, it can also be a part of victory.

As the bible tells us, trials are definitely assigned to us for a reason. I have come to understand that loss is the part of trials that hurts us the most because it leaves an empty place but I also understand that loss is a good thing (as Martha says) because it is a way of seperating us from what we do not need. If it were not so, the bible would have never presented the symbolism of seperating wheat and tares. The tares are not digestable and therefore do not contribute to sustinance (sp?) and so for the purpose of nourishment and growth they are useless.

Back to what I was saying. There is certainly loss in trials and we suffer loss for benefit as we are protected because what we lose does not harm us, it makes us better. God never takes anything that He will not replace with newness because we have repented, trusted Him and allowed Him to reign.

Now let's talk about the enemy, umm, that's another story. God says that the satan is an enemy of God because he has continued to come against what God has ordained in order to fulfill the flesh of man. His loss is different because it is a direct attack on his storehouse of evil and it is felt to his core, there is no recompense. The purpose is to demolish his future plans and demonstrate Jesus is Lord.

And what happens to those who have allowed the enemy to use them to attack what God wants to bless? God takes away what he knows has allowed them to be used in order to make room for the seed of righteousness to form. He takes away freedom, resources and abilities so that we will be humbled, hear him and repent. I say we, because we have all been enemies of God at one point in our lives whether we ignorant of it or refused to acknowledge it. In return we are humbled until we listen and the loss can be magnificient and devestating until we do.Some never learn and live life as an ego, constantly losing even as they think they are winning, repeating the same mistakes and reaping the same losses, some of us decide that we will listen and make life a little easier for ourselves, at least for the moment.

We try to live life without trials but we know that they will come and when they come, we have the power to choose a side, friend or foe, victor or victim, but know, God always get the glory in the end. Always.
