Deut. 14:26 - It Is Written, Drinking Wine and Strong Drink is NOT FORBIDDEN to the Believer
A misconception in Christianity today is the wine and strong drink are forbidden to the Believer. However if we "search the scriptures" like Berens we will find just the opposite! Once again "tradition" not what the Lord says, what "is written" is the basis of this teaching.
A few points, God forbade His priests to drink, ONLY when going to minister in the Holy Place.
He forbid wine to the Nazarite, however after the Nazarite Vow was completed, we find that God says, "then he (the Nazarite) may drink WINE." The Nazarite during his vow, was forbidden any product of the vine, which would include unferminted grape juice, raisins and even grape jelly, so wine was not the issue, it was any product of the fruit of the vine.
Those who were Nazarites for life would avoid ALL GRAPE products for life!
For Passover, fermented wine was used as the beverage, 1 - 4 cups to be specific. This wine was often diluted with water.
Wine, it is written, was made to "Cheer the heart of man". Just how much cheer is there in a glass of "grape juice"?
Wine was used by the Hebrew people in all sorts of celebrations, especially during weddings. So the wine made by Jesus at the wedding of Cana, was fermented wine. Check the greek term used for wine in this text and you will see the truth that it is fermented.
It is the same Greek word is used in the story of the "Good Samaritan" when treating the injured man's wounds. (Since grape juice was put into 'wine skins" which were the bellies of clean animals, and carried on the back of animals, how could the grape juice not ferment, being on the back of a hot animal, or in a wagon/cart exposed to the hot sun, since fermentation begins at room temperature?) Obviously the wine, used on the wounds was fermented wine, the same as the wine Jesus made at the wedding at Cana. Wine with it's alcoholic content would have antiseptic properties and would help in healing wounds.

Regarding Jesus's last Passover, what beverage was used?
Just think, without refridgeration how could grape juice be kept unfermented from the fall grape harvest for 6 months when the Passover occurred, and not have fermented by the natural process and turned into fermented wine???
Those of you who have made wine, or who know others who have made wine, you realize that it only takes a few days in warm conditions for the wine to begin to ferment.
For a any believer to say that wine and strong drink are forbidden to the believer they simply are ignorant of the scriptures.
God encourages His people to drink "wine and strong drink" during the Feast of Tabernacles. It is drunkenness that is forbidden both in the OT and the NT. Just as gluttony is forbidden, but why don't Ministers, Prophetesses etc, teach against this sin?
When someone in Churchianity tell you that the Bible tells you you cannot partake of wine or strong drink, tell them that "it is written" quoted from God Himself, that we can certainly partake of fermented beverages, and show them this vers in Deuteronomy 14:26 -
