It's surprising how people go through life w/o recognizing their feelings toward others are determined by feelings toward themselves. If you're not comfortable within yourself, you can't be comfortable with others. God doesn't create faulty life. Everything created by God is perfect. So stop driving yourself mad with endless ways to improve, and trust that you are fearfully n wonderfully made. FOOD FOR THOUGHT

You, you, you…Everything begins with us, and thus proceeds outward. If the Lord commands us love God with all we have then we must take careful inventory of ourselves so that the love and praise that we are giving unto the Lord is pure, and not polluted.

The Bible says that in the last days men will be lovers of themselves (2 Timothy 3:2) in the same passage the Spirit warns:

"For they will have a form of godliness but deny its power. And from such people turn away! For of this sort are those who creep into households and make captives of gullible women loaded down with sins, led away by various lusts, always learning and never able to come to the knowledge of the truth." (2 Timothy 3:5-7)

In other words, we'll be constantly learning new things, yet chronically missing out on God's truth. We'll be holding to a form of godliness (we'll proclaim that we know Christ), but we'll be denying His power in our lives. At some point in our lives we’ve heard the famous line: “I love you, but I’m not in love with you.” So, with this same line I warn you to love yourself, but be carful to not fall in love with yourself. It’s vital that we don’t let the enemy trick us into putting ourselves before God.

Realistically, legitimate self esteem generates from within a person and has very little to do with the exterior or “outside” world. That means that a woman could have a loving mate that lavishes her with gifts and compliments and still have a low self image. We have to learn to esteem ourselves by learning to love ourselves for who we are and regularly expressing that affection. There are several ways to embrace and love yourself, one is to enjoy being alone. There are so many women who consistently need people around them. They never learned the quiet confidence of just being alone without being lonely. I’ve even stretched myself to enjoy an afternoon movie with just me – not feeling alone, or that someone is “missing”- just enjoying some time with myself.

Why do many people continuously get trapped in the vicious circle of relationships based on infatuation? It is simple: they do not love themselves, and therefore they are willing to forfeit their individuality, including their wants and needs, just to have somebody in their life. The degree to which you love yourself is the degree to which you will be able to extend love to others, and inevitably to find the one for you, and until then the only person who should be hookin’ you up is Jesus. When you don’t love yourself it’s actually very insulting to God… He created you in his image, so why do you doubt yourself? Did God make a mistake when he created you? Think about it.. are you calling God a liar???
