The level, tenor, and tone of rhetoric that has been leveled toward the President of late is alarming. What is more alarming is from who and where it is coming from, evangelicals in the historically dubbed 'bible-belt' states. For society, I have little to no expectations for a civil discussion, cordial respect, nor am I surprised by the venom that the world is capable of producing. As a Christian, I am greatly disturb when those who make profession of faith in the life-giver King, Jesus the Christ; and yet the love and grace that has been shown to them by the loving and gracious God, is not expressed in their lives. On the contrary, hate, prejudice, and whispers of violence are apparently the manners of people who call themselves 'evangelical'. Where are clergy to address this? And you will take note I didn't say black or white.

The church deserves what it gets when we refuse to speak up, speak out, and speak to the problems of the day. I know that its not the platform of abortion. I know that its not the popular talk of prosperity, but is there a prophet in America? I pray that we would pray for salvation for these who need it so desperately.

This mood of hate is getting worse. It is a place that I've never seen it towards a President in my life time. In a newly restored Lincoln museum in Illinois there has been added horrible/animalistic cartoons from that period that portray Lincoln as an ape and a baboon that represents a lot of what was going on at the time. If I may, let us remember what happened to Lincoln in April 1865, he died on good friday.
