Have you been hurt in Church or by Christians?

Many times people leave Church or disconnect from the people God has placed in there lives by a misunderstanding that could have been resolved or by hearing untruths and never seeking to talk with the people involved. The Bible speaks of coming together to reason. Please dont mention the name of a person, Church or Pastor. Lets share ,maybe you can help others to be free and healing to start by sharing and your own healing by sharing and releasing. We dont talk. The World have many platforms, shows and forums to talk. We as Christians dont talk and share as much.Lets hear from you, Pastors as well.We have another discussion Musicians. It has been information shared, healing and just a blessing , so we prayed about this topic. If we could just talk , let all that is bottled up come out in a healthy and respectful way..

Thanks for your comments. As we mature in Christ we are not so wounded easily, we learn to die to the flesh.

Praise Him! I can remember back in my past ,the most hurtful thing that was said to me came from the pastor. I went to the pastor in confidence and told him that I had been called to preach. Well inside the Missionary Baptist church that I attended ,I was given pamphlets to read telling that women were to be silent in church. Men were to be respected as leaders and we should stay in our place. I was disgusted because I knew that God called me to preach. I left the missionary baptist church and started attending Penecostal. Of course my family was hurt that it was different from the style that my great grand parents to present had attended. I had to make that move. These events happened in 1990. Since then I wasMissionary,Evangelist, Minister, Co-Pastor(non-denominational) and currently asst Pastor at Holy host Powerhouse. This year I even made history in a small church in Troy, Alabama I became the first women to minister in any Baptist church in the city. Don't let anyone shake your faith.Stand by your teaching.Hold tight to your faith. The church is where there should be an atmsphere of freedom, love, ansd compassion. People should not be made to feel bad or unpleasant by members. Don't think that they have gotten by with anything "God knows" and he sees, and
he cares. We must be careful to not only Talk the Talk-but, Walk the Walk. God Bless!

Too many people call themselves Christians becuase they attend church and serve faithfully, but they lack relationship with Christ. Sometimes the work of the church consumes a person, makes them too busy to spend time in the secret place, keeping with the disciplines that helps one maintain Christ-like humility and wisdom, the ability to love unconditionally, even when rejected. There is always misunderstanding becuase people lack the wisdom to keep their issues, opinions, criticisms, and thoughts between them and the Lord, maintaining the mind of Christ, asking to see things from His perspective, even if it's to our own shame to admit the problem is really self. We try too hard to take care of things ourselves and our way when we should just be praying and fasting for God to intervene or give us the wisdom and direction to respond or act in a way that would glorify Him and build His Kindgom. Everyone that comes to through the door of the church come with a past, with baggage, with issues. That's why is so important to be a praying and fasting church; so the enemy has no tools, no leverage, no ammunitation to make us act like the world and hurt His children. The more time we really spend time in the Presence, the more like Him we become, and the more of Him we pour out in our attitude, behaviour, speech, thoughts, even when those we are trying to help may persecute and come against us. We are so founded in Christ nothing can move us any other way except bowed or prostrate before a Holy God. But the modern church is trying to use the devices, ideals, the popular and normal things of the world, then sanctify it, bless it, and use it in the church only for it to blow up in our faces---this strategy is birthing watered down Christians with no reverential fear of God and His commandments, no integrity, no honor, no agape love, no rhema Word in them,. We have to stop the vicious cycle of hurting people in the church, becuase it all boils down to this- what we've done to the least of these, we have done unto Him. Everything you do and say will be held against us in the court of the Lord on Judgement Day. That's why I've learned that the best thing to say is "I don't know what to tell you, but God knows all things, and I fear God too much to risk leading you astray and giving you my natural counsel, let us just pray and seek God's wisdom, direction, and will in this matter, let us check our hearts, our motives, and intentions and ensure they honor and glorify Him, and possibly give us an opportunity expose an iniquity within ourselves, to save a lost soul, or gain wisdom....." Excersing humility and love goes a long way in the church.

Oh I can believe it my friend. I'm a PK (preacher's kid). And both my grandmother and my father have pastored churches. I have had family members all up in the five fold ministry for all mof my life. Not to mention I grew up in the church (in various denominations Catholic, COGIC, Baptist, Non-Denom, Presbyterian and even dated an Coptic Christian (Orthodox Egyptian Christian) for quite some time. And that's just to name a few. I've seen church mess as well as mighty miracles from many denominations from the mom and pop size to the mega church.

I am NEVER surprised and the wonderful things and the God awful things I hear that go on in the church. Why? Because I've seen both first hand.

LOL.. don't you know it!! I've seen leaders leave churches because the people were stiff-necked and rebellious. The people told the leader what to do and if he didn't obey well he had hell to pay!

We tend to look at the members of the church being hurt by other members or by leaders. I've wondered how many leaders have been hurt by their members?
