IS IT A SIN FOR A BELIEVER TO LISTEN TO SECULAR MUSIC OF ANY KIND?
Brothers and sisters,
One needs not post a book on that issue. We need not make long studies before answering the question below.
“IS IT A SIN FOR A BELIEVER TO LISTEN TO SECULAR MUSIC OF ANY KIND???”
I do not have a catalogue of spiritual minded music to propose you.
But, I hnow that the answer of this question can be found in Romans 12: 1-2
“Therefore, I urge you, brothers, in view of God's mercy, to offer your bodies as living sacrifices, holy and pleasing to God-this is your spiritual act of worship. Do not conform any longer to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God's will is-his good, pleasing and perfect will”.
Before knowing whether IT IS A SIN FOR A BELIEVER TO LISTEN TO SECULAR MUSIC OF ANY KIND, you must at first be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Amen!
And this will be your Prayer:
“TURN MY HEART TOWARD YOUR STATUTES
AND NOT TOWARD SELFISH GAIN.
TURN MY EYES AWAY FROM WORTHLESS THINGS;
PRESERVE MY LIFE ACCORDING TO YOUR WORD”
Psalm 119: 36-37
If our Lord turns your heart really toward His status, then He will turn also your eyes away from worthless things.
If our Lord turns your heart really toward His status, then He will turn also your ears away from worthless things or worthless music.
If our Lord turns your heart really toward His status, then He will turn also your thought away from worthless things or worthless music.
Indeed, Brother Paul said:
“Finally, brothers, whatever is true, whatever is noble, whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is admirable-if anything is excellent or praiseworthy-think about such things.
Philippians 4:8
“Because those who are led by the Spirit of God are sons of God”.
Romans 8:14
By constant use they have trained themselves to distinguish good from evil.
Hebrews 5:14
If you are a true Believer who is led by the Holy Spirit you must be able to distinguish good music, spiritual minded one from worldly music.
IF JESUS CHRIST WERE IN OUR SHOES, WHAT WOULD HE DO?
WOULD HE LISTEN TO SECULAR MUSIC OF ANY KIND???”
