Jesus Never Changes.......

John 14:14} Yes, I will grant (I Myself will do for you) whatever you shall ask in My Name (as presenting all that I AM).

I find myself going over God's promises a lot and sometimes find it hard to understand why He doesn't answer some prayers, so it seems. While Jesus was one earth He refused no one but did for them whatever they asked Him to do. After all, He did leave us with a great deal or promises concerning our prayers and today's Scripture is just one of them. I don't know about you, but I believe God's word with all my heart. Yet, at times, it's hard for me to understand why some people believe for miracles yet they are not granted them. Ever been there? I am very honest and open when I talk to God and let Him know what concerns me. He knows already, but there is something about talking to Him about it.

We, as human beings, have limited knowledge and wisdom. So I can think of no greater person to run to for advice and direction then God Himself. His ways are so much higher than ours. I've seen many miracles in my life, even in my own body and my own circumstances. I'm sure you have too. How often do we take the time to thank God for those miracles? How often do we take them for granted? I have also seen times when I think my prayers have failed. Ever feel like you've hit a brick wall with your prayers to God? I know I have, but it doesn't stop me from going to Him and to keep on asking, hoping, believing, and talking to Him about it. Sometimes we may not realize it, but He has given us an answer, just not the one we expect. Like it or not, God will sometimes say no and we have to understand that it is for our good. Some things we may think are good for us but are not and will bring destruction in some area of our walk.

I've often heard people's reasoning for unanswered prayer as being: God works in mysterious ways. Yes, He does! But the only problem with this is we never get an answer or understanding if we don't ask the questions. God loves it when we come to Him to talk things over with Him. If we really have our ears fined tuned to His voice He will explain things to us. I asked the Lord when my husband died why he and I did not get the healing miracle we were praying for. God replied: He did! He got the greatest healing miracle ever, he is with Me! Enough said. We have to see God's mercy if they are taken home in their suffering. God doesn't want any of us to suffer needlessly. But we have to remember that we live in a sinful world and things will hit us. All we can do is stand on God's word, believe it and trust Him to do what is best for us.

Look at what God put Job through! But again, look how He blessed Job in the end where Job kept a right attitude with God. Our attitude has a lot to do with whether or not our prayers get answered. Jesus never changes, He is still the same yesterday, today and forever. We are the ones who change, and sometimes not for the good. God sometimes has to allow things in our lives to give us a wake up call, to get us on track, to mold us to what we should be and to be a useful vessel in His hands. Let's face it, we can be stubborn and rebellious at times, so we shouldn't be surprised when trials and tribulations come our way. But if we keep a right attitude, God will bring us through every single one victoriously. There would be no spiritual growth without things coming our way.

Our prayers being answered, our having favor with God, receiving blessings and miracles....all these things don't just depend on who God is, but who we are as well. As God's word says in John 14:21} Whoever has my commands and obeys them, he is the one who loves me. He who loves me will be loved by my Father, and I too will love him and show myself to him. So we have to ask ourselves: Is there any area in me where I am being disobedient to God? We have to stop looking at other people's shortcomings and start looking at our own. How much we love God is how much we will obey Him. Not going to church is being disobedient...we forsake the assembling together of ourselves together. Agreeing with homosexuality, abortions, euthenasia and other things God is against is being disobedient. Gossipping, backbiting, all these negative things can cause disobedience in our lives. We are not to agree with what this world says is ok. We are to agree and line up our walk with God's word. Don't be just hearers of the word, be doers of the word!

Let's face it, God never said it would be easy, but it will be worth it. In this life, on this earth, it can be very hard when the Lord simply doesn't take our problems away or heal us or our loved ones right then and there, but all these things are temporary. It's our character going through these things that will create an outcome that is either going to be good or bad. Our character should be the same as Jesus: have faith, show goodness, seek knowledge, self-control (not letting our emotions dictate), godliness, brotherly kindness, forgiveness in all things and most of all love without exception. Yes, that means our enemies too. When we walk in the steps of Jesus Christ we can't help but succeed and have victory. Which way will you choose to walk this day? If we knew what awaited us in Heaven we would be doing our utmost for Him and for His Kingdom. And we wouldn't question who He takes home. If we saw what they are seeing in that moment we wouldn't want them back either. Food for thought. We have to stop wanting our own way and be open to what God wants. It's not about us, it's about Him! God bless you, I love you, but Jesus loves you so much more than I ever could.
