In this, what appears to be, extended season of one test or tribulation after the other, one can only pause, in between "pantings" and ask God "WHEN" is the madness, the chaos, and the lamentation going to end? Men have always addressed God in this manner, in between their "praise breaks",and victory laps" that they thought would hasten their exiting from the times of the "dry places", and the "valleys" that are assigned to all of us! David made the "Minstrel's Hall of Fame", by recording his travails and attempts at reasoning with God in the recorded 149 collective divisions of the Psalms, and they ran the full gamut from the moanings over the betrayal of his own familiar friends that he took "holyday" with, and death bed misery, to the "highs", of him being glad to" go into the house of the Lord"!. No one was better at questioning God, and petitioning Him with "God have you forgotten about me,?" and confessing his iniquities and transgressions than David! It's safe to say that he had a serious aversion to "trouble", and discomfort, but yet he did everything he could think of, and his flesh desired, to stay in it ! This is why he was always on his face somewhere weeping,"How long shall your anger rage towards me?"! Moses came in a close second in his emergency "conferences" with God, as he tried to lead a rebellious, resistant, bunch of semi-heathens, with seriously "schizophrenic" , and "bi-polar" dispositions, out of the mess they got themselves into, that extended into some ridiculous "overtime",without pay. Our patriarch, Job, was not such a complainer ,as He was a man who was just plain confounded , and baffled over his whole tragic, unexpected, and unexplained circumstances. He spent quite a few chapters just trying to make sense of ,what felt like, severe punishment, and judgement, and an unfair one at that. Joseph never really went on record for belaboring his misfortune, but I'm sure it had to cross his mind, somewhere between being left to be murdered by known "lawless "gangbangers", or mauled to death by some savage beast, and finding himself a slave/servant in some strange pagan king's mansion, being groped and nearly sexually assaulted by the same man's nymphomaniac wife, being thrown into prison for no crime to speak of, and forgotten and being "played" by the same ex-cons whose lives he had saved, and just living his life so precariously, walking on "egg shells", not being able to trust anybody but himself, and never knowing what was around the next corner, or what to expect within the next moment, not to mention having to live under these conditions for YEARS! The greatest testimony of these and most other trials is that the actual "remedy", "deliverance", and way of escape was really "done" long before the trouble and the trial was ever over! David's trial was"done" the day God identified him as his "friend", even though his actual consequences had to still play out, but his "way of escape" was already established"! Now, the Bible says that "When the enemy comes in like a flood, the Spirit of he Lord, raises up a standard against him!" Well the "standard" was already in existence, even before the actual tribulation, so the victory was already won and "done", even though the situation, itself wasn't over. What am I really saying? Way back on Calvary, as Christ "gave up the Ghost", He uttered these words, "IT IS FINISHED/DONE!", and that's exactly what He meant! Even though the symptoms of that disease may still be causing pain and discomfort, it's already done, because by the work done on the cross, your future, supersedes your present! The Lord sent word to Daniel that even though he was still in bondage, and undesirable circumstances, what he required and requested was "done" some time ago, as soon as he sent up his "words" of prayer and supplications! That son who may be sitting in a correctional facility, may have to serve some time, but his release has already been arranged. That marriage that's way past being "on the rocks, because by now, it's "under",a rock", has already been reconciled, even though the two of you may be seriously considering "stabbing" each other ( truth be told) most days! There's a reason that people sometimes seal an agreement, before it actually takes place by saying, "IT'S A DONE DEAL!" I f you can but grasp the concept, that it may not be actually "over", but "IT"S DONE!", you will save yourself so many sleepless nights, torment, ulcers, frustration, and you might even regulate your own blood pressure and get your mind right! We've been told that "It ain't OVER 'til the "fat lady" sings,(and they never said which one), but it was DONE well over 2000 years ago!
